RoaminRabbit, a Singapore-based travel connectivity platform, has introduced an AI-powered virtual assistant named Jojo the Rabbit. The company serves more than 100,000 travelers across 200 countries and destinations, and the assistant launched on October 19, 2026. Jojo is designed to help users compare eSIM plans, find promotions, troubleshoot common connectivity issues, and access guidance through natural-language conversations.

Simplifying eSIM Plan Selection

Although eSIM technology eliminates the need for a physical SIM card, travelers still must evaluate data allowances, validity periods, destination coverage, and prices before choosing a plan. They may also need help with installation, activation, or connection problems after arriving abroad. RoaminRabbit says Jojo brings plan recommendations, troubleshooting guidance, and promotional information into a single conversational experience available 24/7.

Recommendation Logic and User Experience

Jojo is designed to let travelers describe their requirements in everyday language rather than navigate multiple product pages or search through support documentation. Its recommendations consider a traveler's destination and connectivity needs, with follow-up questions about trip duration, the number of users, and estimated data consumption based on planned activities. This approach could reduce the effort involved in comparing plans, particularly for travelers whose data needs vary by destination, trip length, or intended use.

Technical Support Scope

For technical support, Jojo provides guidance on common connectivity questions and problems. RoaminRabbit said the assistant would refer users to appropriate support channels when an issue requires further technical assistance or cannot be resolved through its guidance. The company describes Jojo as a tool for recommendations and troubleshooting guidance, not as a system that independently resolves every network or device problem.

Market Growth and Industry Dynamics

The launch comes as eSIM adoption expands beyond traditional mobile subscriptions into travel services. According to GSMA Intelligence, eSIM accounted for 5% of global smartphone connections at the end of 2025, with the number of eSIM smartphone connections forecast to reach 4.9 billion by 2030. The opportunity for providers increasingly involves not only offering digital connectivity, but also making it easier for consumers to choose, activate, and manage it.

Customer Support Expectations

Travel eSIM providers operate in a market where convenience is central to the product proposition. Gartner's July 2026 survey of 3,566 business and consumer customers found that respondents were approximately three times more likely to use third-party generative AI tools than company-provided chatbots when resolving customer service issues. This suggests that companies must offer useful, effective support experiences rather than assume customers will adopt an AI assistant simply because it is available.

Leadership Commentary

Glen Ramersan, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RoaminRabbit, said, "Staying connected is an essential part of traveling today, and finding the right eSIM plan or getting support should not add unnecessary complexity to the experience." He added that Jojo is meant to make it easier for travelers to explore connectivity options, ask questions, and get guidance whenever they need it. Ramersan said the company ultimately wants to make getting connected and staying connected while traveling a more seamless experience.

The practical test for RoaminRabbit will be whether Jojo can provide accurate plan recommendations, help users resolve common problems, and transfer more complex cases to human support without creating additional friction. The company has not yet disclosed resolution rates, customer satisfaction results, or the proportion of issues handled without escalation. As eSIM services become more accessible, providers will need to differentiate themselves through plan selection, setup guidance, and reliable support when problems arise.
