Vienna-based construction technology startup reebuild has raised €3 million in Seed funding to expand its AI-powered back-office automation platform for construction and real estate companies. The round was led by Ghent-based Fortino Ventures, with participation from Rise PropTech and CuriosityVC. Existing investor Hansmann Family Office also remained involved, reinforcing support for the company's growth plans and its European technology approach.

Manual Processes in Construction

Construction and real estate companies often depend on spreadsheets, paper folders, and manual workflows to manage invoices, contracts, and project costs. This dependence can delay approvals, limit visibility into project finances, and cause missed opportunities to reduce costs. Reebuild aims to address these problems by automating repetitive administrative tasks and giving teams access to more current financial information, while keeping final decisions with employees.

AI-Powered Document Processing

The platform reads incoming documents line by line, including PDFs, photos, scans, and electronic invoices, and converts them into structured data. It automatically matches delivery notes, invoices, and order confirmations, while AI agents prepare tasks and recommend next actions for commercial managers. Final approval decisions remain with employees, preserving human oversight over financial processes and reducing repetitive administrative workload over time.

Efficiency Gains and Customer Adoption

Reebuild reports that invoice processing time has fallen from more than 20 minutes to approximately three minutes. Approval cycles have shortened from five days to around one and a half days, and customer feedback indicates procurement cost reductions of up to 20%. The company currently serves more than 120 companies across over 8,200 construction sites and projects, and it has processed invoices worth more than €530 million.

Customer Base and Platform Reach

Among reebuild's Austrian customers are Pittel+Brausewetter, 3SI Immogroup, Schöll Bau, and Obenauf, while Rödl & Herdegen and Kratzert Gruppe also use the platform. More than 2,350 people work with the software daily, from site foremen to executive leadership. The platform has automatically handled over 345,000 documents, demonstrating its growing role in construction back-office operations.

Expansion Plans and Product Roadmap

The new financing will support geographic expansion beyond reebuild's established markets in Austria and Germany into additional European countries. Reebuild also plans to develop new AI-native modules for project estimation, on-site documentation, and accounting, while growing its Vienna-based team of around 25 people. These modules are intended to move the company toward an agentic back office that covers a contractor's entire commercial workflow from calculation to accounting.

Leadership and Market Context

Reebuild was founded in 2022 by Alexander Kornell, Matteo Cimadom, and Luca Papay, with Nicolaus Lederer also part of the leadership team. The founders combine practical construction experience through family businesses with expertise in AI research and development. The company emphasizes European technology, including GDPR-compliant software hosted in Germany and development work based in Vienna.

Investor Perspective

Wouter Goossens, Partner at Fortino Ventures, said that now is the right time for construction companies to digitize and automate their back-office processes with SaaS and AI. He noted that reebuild is the right team to execute on this opportunity, especially because the founding team has family roots in the construction sector. Andrei Podlesnyi, Investment Manager at Hansmann Family Office, added that the startup has demonstrated that growth and close customer relationships are not mutually exclusive.

With €3 million in new Seed funding, reebuild is positioned to reduce administrative workloads across the European construction sector. Its existing customer base and document processing volumes indicate meaningful traction in a traditionally manual industry. By expanding its AI-native modules and geographic footprint, the company aims to make manual back-office tasks increasingly rare while keeping final decisions in human hands.
