Brazilian financial platform RecargaPay has announced the promotion of Miguel Perdigão to General Manager of Financial Products. This strategic appointment positions the fintech to accelerate its expansion into the credit market, a key growth area for the company. The move follows RecargaPay's recent acquisition of a financial license from the Central Bank of Brazil, signaling a new phase of development.

A Strategic Push into Financial Services

In his new capacity, Perdigão will spearhead the company's most critical growth initiatives, including the expansion of its credit card and loan operations. His leadership is central to RecargaPay's strategy to build out its entire credit vertical. This promotion is timed to leverage the new regulatory permissions the company has secured to operate as a financial institution.

RecargaPay has demonstrated a strong growth trajectory, reporting an average annual increase of 30% and more than doubling its service portfolio in recent years. The platform currently serves a robust user base of 14 million customers throughout Brazil. This established market presence provides a solid foundation for the company's ambitious plans in the credit sector.

Experienced Leadership to Drive Expansion

Miguel Perdigão brings a wealth of experience from the financial and strategic consulting sectors to his new role. He previously spent four years at McKinsey & Company, where he advised leading financial institutions on corporate strategy and risk management. Before that, he dedicated five years to J.P. Morgan, focusing on risk management in both the São Paulo and New York offices.

Complementing his corporate background, Perdigão also has entrepreneurial experience from his time at two Brazilian startups. His academic credentials include a degree in Naval and Oceanic Engineering from the University of São Paulo and an MBA from the prestigious INSEAD business school. This diverse skill set makes him uniquely qualified to lead RecargaPay's product innovation and market expansion.

A Vision for Customer-Centric Growth

Upon his appointment, Perdigão expressed his enthusiasm for the challenge, emphasizing a clear objective for his new position. He stated his primary focus is to ensure the company's products and solutions are perfectly aligned with the evolving needs of its customers. This customer-centric vision will guide the development of RecargaPay's expanding financial offerings.

Rodrigo Teijeiro, CEO of RecargaPay, affirmed that the promotion marks a significant step in strengthening the company's operational leadership. He noted that the move is part of a broader strategy to prepare the executive team for the next stage of the company's growth. This underscores the firm's commitment to scaling its operations and solidifying its market position.

The appointment of Miguel Perdigão is a clear indicator of RecargaPay's strategic intent to become a dominant force in Brazil's competitive fintech landscape. With his extensive experience and a clear mandate for growth, he is poised to drive the company's expansion in the crucial credit sector. This leadership change positions RecargaPay to effectively capitalize on its large customer base and new financial license for sustained success.
