Qatar Science and Technology Park, a member of Qatar Foundation, has officially launched a revamped Incubation Program, welcoming the Fall 2026 cohort of 52 local and international startups across 19 sectors. The new 16-week pathway is designed to accelerate ventures from validation and launch through investment readiness. Participants will move through a coordinated structure that connects product development, market entry, and investor engagement under one program.

A Three-Phase Program Structure

The revamped program combines Sprint, Incubation, and Funding phases into a continuous startup journey. It begins with intensive venture development and ends with direct investor introductions and follow-up support. The integrated design helps founders test assumptions, demonstrate progress, and prepare for scalable growth in Qatar and beyond.

Sprint Phase Focuses on Early Validation

The first phase is a four-week Sprint that challenges startups across product-market fit, go-to-market strategy, product readiness, market potential, financials, and team dynamics. Founders participate in workshops, mentorship, hands-on development, fieldwork, and regular pitching sessions. These activities are designed to validate assumptions, sharpen business models, and identify which ventures are ready to advance.

Incubation Phase Turns Strategy into Execution

Following a structured evaluation process, selected startups enter an eight-week Incubation phase focused on execution. Founders work to establish their businesses in Qatar, engage with the local market, and secure pilot opportunities for their solutions. They also prepare for regional expansion and begin positioning themselves for later investor conversations and capital opportunities.

Funding Phase Supports Investor Readiness

The program concludes with a four-week Funding phase that connects investment-ready startups with potential investors. QSTP facilitates relevant introductions and supports follow-up discussions to help founders maintain momentum within the local and regional venture community. This final stage builds on progress from Sprint and Incubation to translate execution into tangible investor relationships.

Leadership Emphasizes Evidence-Based Company Building

QSTP President Rama Chakaki stated that great startups are not built through ideas alone but by testing assumptions, proving demand, and turning evidence into action. She added that the reimagined Incubation Program gives ambitious founders the support, access, and opportunities needed to build companies with real potential. The goal is to help startups establish themselves in Qatar and grow across the wider region.

Diverse Cohort Begins in September

The Fall 2026 cohort includes 25 local and 27 international startups spanning EdTech, MedTech, FinTech, cybersecurity, SportsTech, and other sectors. This group began the program on September 1, making it the first cohort to progress through the revamped incubation journey. Its size and sector diversity reflect QSTP's effort to position Qatar as a launchpad for regional and international growth.

Broader Ecosystem Support and Program Terms

Beyond the structured phases, participating startups gain access to mentorship, expert workshops, networking activities, and connections with ecosystem leaders and industry partners. Selected startups that continue into Incubation receive company registration support, access to local talent, and introductions to investors and partners. As part of the program, QSTP takes 1.5 percent equity from each startup entering Incubation through a deferred SAFE-style model.

QSTP's revamped Incubation Program signals a more integrated approach to startup development in Qatar, linking validation, execution, and investment in a single pathway. By attracting both local and international founders, the initiative aims to strengthen the country's science and technology ecosystem and support ambitious ventures from early insight to scale. As the Fall 2026 cohort moves through the new structure, QSTP expects the program to produce companies that are better prepared for market entry, regional expansion, and long-term investor engagement.
