Singapore-based fintech company Qashier has launched QashierGM, an AI-powered assistant designed to help merchants manage daily operations, analyze business performance, and automate administrative tasks. Announced on October 22, 2026, the solution is available to all Qashier merchants in Singapore at no additional cost through the QashierHQ platform. The company also introduced Crew, an integrated team communication tool that enables employees to collaborate with the AI assistant according to their assigned permissions.

AI-Powered Business Management

QashierGM uses merchants' existing transaction records, payment settlements, and product information to deliver operational insights tailored to individual businesses. Business owners can ask questions about sales performance, payment discrepancies, popular products, and differences between store locations without manually reviewing multiple reports. The assistant can also identify underperforming outlets and recommend promotional activities based on actual customer purchasing patterns.

Beyond providing information, the system can perform administrative tasks such as updating product prices, adding inventory items, and marking products as unavailable. Each proposed modification is presented for review before implementation, ensuring that changes require authorization from the appropriate user. This approval-based approach allows merchants to delegate repetitive activities while maintaining control over business decisions.

The platform also supports personalized notifications that help business owners track operational developments. Merchants can configure alerts for unusual refunds, employee attendance, and other activities requiring attention. For businesses operating several outlets, QashierGM enables centralized performance comparisons and coordinated updates across locations.

Merchant Feedback and Early Adoption

The official launch follows an open beta introduced in September 2026, involving businesses ranging from independent cafés and retail stores to multi-location operators. According to Qashier, food and beverage merchants were particularly active during testing, frequently requesting information about sales trends, payment settlements, and best-selling products. Some participants also explored AI-generated promotional recommendations ahead of the year-end shopping season.

Christopher Choo, Co-Founder and CEO of Qashier, positioned the technology as a way to reduce the operational burden on small business owners. The company aims to provide management capabilities that smaller merchants may lack the resources to hire dedicated personnel for. Feedback from participating businesses, including Coexist Coffee Co., highlighted the convenience of accessing business information and preparing promotions through conversational requests.

Crew Introduces Team-Based AI Collaboration

Alongside QashierGM, the company introduced Crew, a workplace messaging solution integrated into its merchant management ecosystem. Available under Qashier and Enterprise plans, Crew supports direct messaging, group conversations, internal announcements, and read receipts. Employees can engage the AI assistant by tagging @GM in relevant conversations to request operational information or initiate permitted tasks.

The integration applies role-based controls to determine which information employees can access and what actions they can perform. Staff members can manage authorized product updates, while managers can approve changes and business owners can issue customer invoices containing payment links. Qashier stated that the assistant accesses only conversations in which it has been explicitly tagged, helping maintain boundaries around internal communications.

Regional Expansion and Company Growth

Qashier plans to introduce QashierGM and Crew in Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines in November 2026, extending access beyond Singapore. The company also expects to introduce integrations with external services, including Gmail and Google Business Profile, during November. These connections are intended to expand the assistant's capabilities into supplier communications, customer inquiries, and online review management.

Founded in Singapore in 2019, Qashier provides integrated payment processing, business management software, and customer engagement solutions to more than 25,000 merchants across Southeast Asia. The company reports processing more than US$1 billion in annualized payment volume and reaching profitability in December 2025. Its expansion follows a US$6.125 million Series A+ financing round completed in June 2026.

The introduction of QashierGM and Crew represents Qashier's effort to integrate AI-driven assistance directly into everyday merchant operations. By combining transaction analysis, administrative automation, and internal communication, the company aims to make advanced business management capabilities more accessible to smaller enterprises. Its planned regional rollout and third-party integrations could further expand the role of AI within Southeast Asia's merchant technology ecosystem.
