Atlanta-based construction intelligence platform Punch has secured US$2 million from returning investor Gutter Capital. The company uses artificial intelligence to connect field teams with project management and accounting, turning spoken jobsite updates into reports and financial documents. The funding will help Punch expand its engineering and customer teams and further develop its platform for contractors.

Connecting Field and Office Workflows

Punch aims to remove repetitive data entry between the field and the office. Superintendents can speak to the mobile app, send a photo, or forward an email, and the platform applies company rules to prepare daily reports, flag delays, or create follow-up tasks. Material requests can be turned into purchase orders using supplier pricing and approval processes, keeping project work moving without duplicated effort.

Integration with Existing Systems

Punch is designed to work alongside contractors' existing estimating and accounting systems rather than replacing them. Teams can begin with daily reports, purchasing, or invoice review and then expand into additional workflows as their needs evolve. This flexible approach allows construction firms to adopt the platform gradually while maintaining established financial processes.

Customer-Driven Development

Early customer companies helped shape Punch around the daily realities of construction work. Several existing customers have also invested in the company, joining technology angels in supporting the platform. This grassroots backing reflects confidence among contractors who already use the product to manage reporting, material ordering, and daily payroll workflows.

Measurable Time Savings

Punch users report significant reductions in administrative time. Dustin Gibbs, general superintendent at Atlanta-based Piedmont Drywall, says the time needed to complete a daily report dropped from 30 minutes to three minutes. Across daily reporting, material orders, and payroll, Gibbs estimates the platform saves him about 2.5 hours per day, freeing time for project execution.

Preserving Construction Know-How

As experienced workers leave the industry, contractors risk losing project knowledge, processes, and judgment built over time. Punch helps companies create an internal playbook of best practices that combines project knowledge, approval rules, and company processes. This approach gives newer employees access to established ways of working while helping businesses retain institutional knowledge.

Investor Confidence

Dan Teran, managing partner at Gutter Capital, said construction projects are complex, unique, and do not happen behind a desk. He explained that the firm partnered with founder Taylor Sandusky because he has experienced the messy reality of construction and built Punch to use AI where field users actually work. The platform aims to give leadership real-time, project-level visibility that supports better decision making.

Platform Expansion and Hiring

Punch plans to use the new funding to expand its engineering and customer teams and to continue developing the construction intelligence platform. The company is also focused on helping more contractors adopt the technology across daily reports, purchasing, and invoice review. Teams can start with one workflow and expand into other areas over time.

Founded in 2025, Punch Software Inc. offers a permission-safe AI platform that connects field conversations, company knowledge, and live job information with project management, operations, and accounting. With this US$2 million investment, the company is positioned to broaden its reach among contractors seeking practical AI tools for construction. The funding reinforces Punch's goal of helping teams move work forward without repeated data entry or lost project insight.
