Potencia Ventures has announced the launch of Potencia UP LATAM 2026, a new acceleration program for early-stage startups. This initiative, developed in partnership with Artemisia, marks the program's first expansion outside of Brazil, targeting education and future-of-work ventures in Spanish-speaking Latin America. Applications for the free program are open from July 20 to August 23, offering a unique growth opportunity for regional entrepreneurs.

A Strategic Expansion into Latin America

The decision to expand was driven by the success of two previous editions in Brazil and the shared educational challenges across the continent. Itali Collini, head of Potencia Ventures in Brazil, noted the opportunity to extend this proven experience to other countries. The region is home to talented entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions for these common issues, creating a fertile ground for the program's model.

Potencia UP positions itself as a vital alternative to traditional venture capital, which may not always suit EdTech and workforce-focused startups. The program aims to generate visibility and catalyze businesses that require more flexible support and financing structures. Collini emphasizes that the current challenge is not proving the market's relevance but building resilient businesses that can thrive in a more selective capital environment.

A Multi-Stage Development Journey

The program is structured as a comprehensive three-stage journey designed to foster sustainable growth among participants. Initially, approximately 100 selected startups will engage in a digital training track with Spanish-language content on business development. This first phase, led by industry specialists and executives, is scheduled to begin on September 7, providing a solid foundational knowledge base.

Following the initial training, the ten most engaged startups will advance to a second phase of personalized mentorship. These sessions are carefully structured to address the specific challenges and strategic needs of each individual company. The final stage will see five startups selected for a rigorous due diligence process conducted by the Potencia Ventures investment team, beginning in the first quarter of 2027.

Investment and Ecosystem Impact

A key component of the program is the direct pathway to funding for the most promising ventures. The five finalists undergoing due diligence will be evaluated for potential investments starting at US$ 100,000. Potencia Ventures will utilize flexible financing instruments, such as convertible notes or revenue share agreements, which do not require an immediate sale of company equity.

Beyond capital, the program offers significant exposure and networking opportunities to bolster the regional ecosystem. The top five companies will be invited to participate in the prestigious IFE Conference in Mexico, a major event for educational innovation. This unique combination of practical content, tailored mentorship, and investment potential makes Potencia UP a distinct opportunity for startups in the sector.

Potencia UP LATAM 2026 represents a significant commitment to advancing the education and future-of-work sectors across Spanish-speaking Latin America. By providing a structured pathway from training to potential investment, the initiative is poised to help entrepreneurs build scalable and resilient businesses. This program offers a critical platform for innovators aiming to address the region's most pressing educational and professional development challenges.
