The investment, co-led by the Gates Foundation, Investible, and Yara Growth Ventures, will accelerate the commercial deployment of technology aimed at decarbonizing global agriculture. This capital marks a pivotal moment for the company as it moves from trials to establishing on-farm fertiliser hubs.

The US$21 million funding round attracted a powerful syndicate of strategic and institutional investors, underscoring confidence in PlasmaLeap's vision. Participants included GrainCorp Ventures, Twynam, and Agnition Ventures, the investment arm of New Zealand's Ravensdown co-operative. This diverse backing provides both financial strength and deep industry expertise to guide the company's expansion.

Proceeds are earmarked for tangible growth, including establishing pioneering fertiliser hubs in New South Wales and Tasmania. The capital will also facilitate the expansion of crucial field trials and support the continued advancement of the core plasma reactor technology. These steps are essential for scaling the solution and proving its commercial viability.

Originating from research at the University of Sydney, PlasmaLeap's patented technology produces ammonia and nitrate using only air, water, and renewable electricity. The process is housed within modular, scalable reactors designed for decentralized operation directly on farms or at local hubs.
