Paymentology, a leading global issuer processor, has expanded its longstanding partnership with Huru, an Emirati-owned financial app licensed by the Central Bank of the UAE. The collaboration will support the launch of Huru's card on Jaywan, the UAE's domestic card scheme. This step deepens Huru's ability to serve a growing customer base while aligning with the country's evolving payments infrastructure.
Expanding a Longstanding Partnership
Under the expanded agreement, Paymentology will continue to provide the processing technology that underpins Huru's card program. This continuity supports the fintech as it broadens the services available to customers across the UAE. The move onto Jaywan represents a natural next step in a relationship built on processing flexibility and scale.
Huru's Growth and Universal Account
Huru has grown significantly since its launch, with AED 3 billion in annualized salary flows now passing through its accounts and more than 24,000 employers using the platform to pay employees. The company works with nine exchange houses toward a target of approximately one million accounts over the coming year. The Universal Account provides an individual IBAN-based account linked to the customer rather than a specific employer, helping users keep the same account when employment changes.
Expanding Card and Payment Capabilities
Through the Huru app, customers can receive salaries, make domestic and international payments, send money overseas, top up mobile phones, set savings goals, and use their Huru card. The platform is currently available in seven languages, reflecting its focus on accessibility for a diverse user base. The addition of Jaywan will further develop Huru's card proposition while supporting the UAE's wider move toward a stronger domestic payments ecosystem.
Executive Perspective
Nauman Hassan, Regional Director MENA at Paymentology, described the UAE as building a payments ecosystem shaped by local innovation, digital-first services, and greater customer choice. He noted that Jaywan is an important part of that evolution and that Huru is well placed to bring the benefits to a broad and growing customer base. Paymentology's role, he added, is to give Huru the processing flexibility and scale it needs to bring new capabilities to market quickly and confidently.
Customer-Focused Financial Journeys
Abhimanyu Girotra, Chief Executive Officer of Huru, emphasized that receiving a salary is only the starting point of a person's financial journey. He said Huru's focus has always been on what happens next, including how people manage money, make payments, send money home, save for the future, and control their income. Paymentology has been an important partner in building and scaling that experience, and bringing Jaywan into the Huru ecosystem is another significant step forward.
Market Significance and Next Steps
The collaboration reflects the continued development of the UAE payments market, where domestic infrastructure, digital-first financial services, and modern processing technology are increasingly coming together. This creates more locally tailored payment experiences and supports the country's push for a stronger domestic payments ecosystem. Huru's expansion onto Jaywan positions the fintech to align its card offering with national infrastructure while it pursues its account growth targets.
The expanded partnership between Paymentology and Huru marks a meaningful development in the UAE's digital payments landscape. By combining Huru's customer reach with Paymentology's processing expertise and Jaywan's domestic scheme, the companies aim to deliver more relevant and consistent financial services. This collaboration highlights how local infrastructure and fintech innovation can work together to strengthen everyday financial experiences for customers.
