ParkMundo, a travel technology company that operates an airport parking marketplace and distribution platform, has raised €2.3 million in Seed funding. The round represents the company's first external capital after more than a decade of bootstrapped growth and profitability. The new funding will be used to scale its consumer marketplace, expand its B2B partner ecosystem, and accelerate international expansion.
From Bootstrapped Roots to Global Operations
Founded in 2013 by Jeroen van den Eerenbeemt as Vliegen en Parkeren, the company was soon joined by Martijn Meeuws, now co-founder and CEO. The business began as a single airport parking comparison website and gradually expanded into an international travel technology platform. Today, ParkMundo operates across four continents and has facilitated millions of bookings through a network of more than 850 partners in 15 countries.
Seed Funding and Investor Backing
The Seed round was backed by a group of angel investors with experience in the technology and travel sectors, alongside additional financing from Rabobank. The capital marks a significant milestone for a company that had been self-funded and profitable since its early years. ParkMundo plans to direct the investment toward further technology development, international growth, and scaling of its distribution partnerships.
Rebrand and Technology Overhaul
Before this investment, ParkMundo rebuilt its technology infrastructure and brought 9 brands together under the ParkMundo name. The rebrand reflects a transformation from a local comparison website into a unified global platform. This foundation allowed the company to introduce B2B distribution capabilities that complement its consumer marketplace while serving both individual travelers and enterprise partners through a single platform.
B2B Distribution and AI Optimization
ParkMundo's B2B distribution platform enables airlines, online travel agencies, and other travel brands to integrate airport parking directly into their booking processes. Through APIs and partner integrations, travel companies can offer parking as an ancillary service without building their own supply networks. The company also applies AI to optimize parking prices, using more than a decade of consumer booking insights to help partners increase attach rates, conversion, and ancillary revenue.
Board Strengthened for Growth
Alongside the funding, ParkMundo has strengthened its governance with the appointment of experienced technology and travel industry leaders to its board. Jan-Willem van Boeckel, founder of Treatwell, and Mattijs ten Brink, former CEO of Transavia and Sunweb Group, bring expertise in marketplace scaling, travel, and international growth. Their appointments are intended to support the company's expansion of both consumer and partner distribution businesses.
Addressing a Fragmented Market
ParkMundo sees airport parking as one of the last major travel products operating through fragmented local systems. The company believes travelers deserve the same seamless booking experience for parking that they expect for flights and hotels. Its ambition is to become the global infrastructure connecting parking operators with travelers wherever they book their trips.
Scaling a Second Growth Engine
Building on its consumer platform, ParkMundo is scaling embedded distribution as a second growth engine. The company's plug-and-play API gives travel brands quick access to a global parking inventory, allowing them to add parking within their existing booking journeys. ParkMundo believes this approach creates value for travelers and opens attractive incremental revenue opportunities across the travel chain.
With this Seed funding, ParkMundo is transitioning from disciplined self-funded growth into a new phase of accelerated expansion. The company's mix of a global supply network, a consumer marketplace, and embedded B2B distribution gives it a distinctive position in the travel ancillary market. As airport parking moves toward connected, technology-driven distribution, ParkMundo's progress will be an important indicator for the broader sector.
