The technology effectively decouples power from energy capacity, allowing for flexible scaling similar to a flow battery. Its design features a power block, a charge tank, and a discharge tank, enabling a compact physical footprint. Noon claims its system is between 20 and 200 times smaller than competing long-duration storage solutions like pumped hydro.
