Mambu has launched Intelligent Core, a new architecture combining core banking, payments, and agentic AI within one open, composable platform. The offering brings together Mambu Core, Mambu Payments, and Mambu Agentic to connect AI capabilities directly with banking infrastructure. Mambu says the platform will help financial institutions automate operations, launch products faster, and deliver more personalized services.
Integrating AI With Core Banking
The launch reflects growing interest among banks and financial institutions in embedding artificial intelligence more deeply into their technology infrastructure rather than deploying it as a standalone layer. Mambu argues that many institutions continue to place AI applications on top of legacy core systems that were not designed to support real-time intelligence, automated decision-making, or autonomous workflows. Intelligent Core is intended to address this challenge by integrating AI more closely with the systems responsible for deposits, lending, payments, transactions, and other essential banking functions.
Mambu Agentic Adds New Intelligence Capabilities
At the center of the new architecture is Mambu Agentic, which introduces AI connectivity, specialized agents, and autonomous workflows directly into Mambu's existing banking platform. The offering includes support for the Model Context Protocol, or MCP, allowing enterprise AI agents to access relevant core banking and payment information in real time without requiring extensive custom integrations. This connectivity is designed to give AI systems the operational context needed to analyze information and perform authorized activities while remaining connected to the institution's underlying banking infrastructure.
AI Insights and Automated Agents
Mambu has also introduced AI Insights, a curated data layer intended to ensure that information used by AI agents remains reliable while automatically identifying potential growth opportunities, risks, anomalies, and operational patterns. Alongside this capability, pre-built action agents can collect information, reason against configurable rules, execute permitted tasks, and explain the decisions they make. Financial institutions can customize policies, approval thresholds, and business logic governing these agents, giving them greater control over how AI-driven automation operates across sensitive banking processes.
Expanding Mambu's Composable Banking Strategy
Intelligent Core extends Mambu's broader composable banking strategy, which the company has developed over the past 15 years to help financial institutions modernize services including deposits, lending, and Islamic banking. Chief Executive Officer Fernando Zandona said the new architecture represents an evolution of that approach by bringing intelligence directly into the banking stack and allowing AI agents to interact more closely with the ledger. Mambu says this combination of composability and agentic AI can accelerate execution while maintaining configurable governance, transparency, scalability, and auditability.
Intelligent Core positions Mambu to integrate agentic AI more directly into the infrastructure that powers banking products and transactions. By combining banking, payments, AI insights, and configurable agents, the platform aims to increase automation while maintaining institutional control. The launch reflects the broader shift toward embedding AI deeper into financial services infrastructure.
