Malaysian drone technology pioneer Aonic has successfully secured $10 million in a significant Series A funding round. The investment was led by Kairous Capital, a prominent regional private equity firm backed by Jelawang Capital through Malaysia's National Fund-of-Funds. This fresh capital injection is strategically allocated to accelerate Aonic’s international expansion, deepen its research and development, and scale its comprehensive Malaysia-built drone ecosystem.

Revolutionizing Agriculture with Proven Technology

Aonic delivers end-to-end drone solutions that are fundamentally transforming the agriculture and industrial sectors across Southeast Asia. By replacing hazardous and labor-intensive manual spraying, the company empowers farmers to significantly enhance operational efficiency and boost crop yields. Impressive internal performance data shows its drones can increase farmer income by 50% and farm output by 54% while reducing water consumption by 75%.

A Vertically Integrated and Supportive Ecosystem

The company’s competitive edge stems from its fully integrated in-house ecosystem, which covers the entire value chain from design to manufacturing. This vertical integration gives Aonic complete control over product performance, costs, and its long-term technology roadmap. To further support its clients, the company offers comprehensive training, accessible financing through Aonic Flex, and agri-input retail services to lower adoption barriers.

Strong Financials and Established Market Leadership

Aonic’s disciplined execution is reflected in its robust financial performance, having achieved profitability since 2023. The company has recorded a triple-digit compound annual growth rate since 2022, with annual revenues now surpassing USD 60 million. This impressive growth has cemented its status as a market leader in the agri-drone segments of both Malaysia and Thailand, supported by over 50 service centers.

Fueling Global Expansion and Innovation

With its technology already operational in over 15 countries, Aonic is now preparing for its next major growth phase on the global stage. According to Kairous Capital Partner Adrian Hia, this investment will enable Aonic to deepen its proprietary R&D and scale its Malaysian manufacturing capacity. A core element of this expansion involves actively building a robust international network of resellers and distributors to bring its ecosystem to new markets.

A Strategic Partnership for Future Growth

Adrian Hia lauded Aonic for its deep technical capability and exceptional execution, calling it a rare company that can deliver transformative agri-tech at scale. Aonic Founder and CEO Cheong Jin Xi emphasized the strategic fit, stating that Kairous Capital understands the company's long-term vision. He noted their expertise will be crucial in scaling operations and expanding into global markets over the next five years.

This $10 million investment is a significant milestone for Aonic, validating a decade of dedicated groundwork since its founding in 2016. With a reinforced capital base and a proven, scalable business model, the company is poised to export Malaysian engineering excellence worldwide. Aonic is now strongly positioned to lead the next wave of agricultural and industrial transformation on a global scale.
