Spanish energy technology company Linkener has raised €7.5 million in a funding round led by Klima, Alantra’s energy transition fund, with continued backing from existing investor GoHub Ventures. Announced on October 19, 2026, the round will support the development of proprietary artificial intelligence models and broader growth initiatives. Linkener provides digital energy management solutions that help businesses monitor, analyze, and optimize their energy consumption.

Investor backing and fund profile

Klima Energy Transition Fund led the investment, marking the 11th portfolio investment of Klima I. The €210 million fund is backed by Alantra and Enagás as sponsors, alongside the European Investment Fund, the Canadian Pension Fund, and Axis ICO. Its existing portfolio includes GridBeyond, Dexter Energy, Echandia, and Meteomatics, reflecting a focus on technology-driven decarbonization.

Platform and operational reach

Linkener has developed an Intelligent Energy Management System that uses proprietary remote metering technology to help businesses and organizations monitor, analyze, and optimize energy consumption. The platform allows customers to track usage with their own data, digitize and validate energy bills, and analyze supply contracts. It also delivers alerts and recommendations designed to identify potential savings and improve energy cost management.

Demonstrated delivery and scale

The company serves more than 2,000 customers across 10,000 energy supply points and manages 1.7 TWh of annual energy consumption. Linkener has also completed more than 400 solar photovoltaic and battery storage installations across Spain. This operational footprint combines smart metering, software, energy data, and AI to help businesses reduce energy costs.

Market opportunity and cost savings

Linkener sees significant opportunities for digitalization and energy optimization, particularly in the services sector, where better monitoring and control can generate savings of 20%. Rising and volatile energy prices, along with increasingly complex contracts and regulations, are driving demand for greater visibility and control. The company aims to support organizations that need reliable data to understand spending, anticipate costs, and make better decisions.

AI and acquisition roadmap

With the new funding, Linkener plans to further develop its technology and proprietary AI models for energy management. By combining AI with advanced data analytics, the company intends to automate the processing of energy information and bills, detect anomalies, and identify cost optimization opportunities. The investment will also support organic growth and an acquisition strategy focused on complementary businesses, products, and capabilities.

Leadership commentary

Linkener CEO José Ignacio Ruiz said the round will help transform a fragmented energy management market that has remained largely unchanged for 40 years. He emphasized the company’s focus on providing businesses with the data needed to validate, manage, and predict every euro invested in energy. Klima Partner Iñigo Echaniz noted that Linkener combines proprietary technology, independent energy data, and direct customer relationships to create a differentiated platform for future expansion.

With fresh capital from Klima and continued support from GoHub Ventures, Linkener is positioned to strengthen its technology and commercial operations in the Spanish and broader European energy management market. The company’s combination of digital tools, AI development, and acquisition plans reflects a push to modernize a sector that still relies on legacy practices. If successful, the strategy could help more businesses turn energy data into measurable cost savings and operational efficiency.
