LemFi, the financial platform for people building lives across borders, has announced its largest product expansion to date alongside a rebuilt mobile application and a new global brand platform called Ambition has no passport. The company now serves more than two million customers who move money to over 30 countries, with monthly transaction volume exceeding US$2 billion. The expansion adds savings, credit, and mobile data services to its existing international payments business, positioning LemFi as a broader financial services provider.

Product Expansion and New Services

LemFi's expanded platform now includes savings and credit in the UK and eSIM data services in more than 100 destinations. The company has added a savings account, a revolving credit line, and mobile data purchase options alongside its existing international money transfer service. These additions are designed to give customers a single account for saving, borrowing, sending, and staying connected.

Savings Protection and Credit Access

The UK savings account can be opened from £1 and carries no penalty for withdrawals, with deposits held by ClearBank and protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme up to £120,000 per eligible depositor. Eligible customers can also view their Equifax credit score in the app for free. The credit product is available subject to eligibility and is issued by LemFi Credit through Pillar, the FCA-regulated credit provider that LemFi acquired in 2025.

Rebuilt App and New Brand Identity

The company has re-architected its mobile application from the ground up to support multiple products and multiple countries within a single account. This redesign moves beyond a transfer app and creates a foundation for future services as LemFi expands. The new brand platform, Ambition has no passport, reflects the company's focus on customers building careers, businesses, and families across borders.

Addressing a Cross-Border Financial Gap

LemFi's expansion is grounded in the financial challenges faced by the estimated 304 million people living outside their country of birth, who collectively send about US$905 billion home each year. A credit history rarely survives a border crossing, and many migrants struggle to access loans or savings products in their new country. LemFi aims to build a platform around this gap rather than treating international transfers as its customers' only financial need.

Company Momentum and Leadership Outlook

Founded in 2021 by Ridwan Olalere and Rian Cochran, LemFi has raised more than US$85 million from investors including Highland Europe, Left Lane Capital, Palm Drive Capital, Endeavor Catalyst, and Y Combinator. Chief Executive Officer Ridwan Olalere said the company started because sending money home was broken, but the harder problem begins after the transfer. He added that customers are building careers and businesses in one country while supporting people in another, and financial infrastructure should travel with them.

With savings and credit currently available in the UK and other markets set to follow, LemFi is evolving from a remittance provider into a broader financial platform for people living across borders. The company plans to add more countries next year as it continues to build on its existing customer relationships and international payments network. Its main challenge will be converting that momentum into a wider suite of services for people managing financial lives between different countries.
