Legora, the agentic operating system for legal professionals, has closed a US$550 million Series E round at a US$8.8 billion post-money valuation. The round was led by Atreides Management and included new investors such as Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Glade Brook Capital Partners, and J.P. Morgan. Existing backers including Accel, Benchmark, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, ICONIQ, Insight Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and Sands Capital also participated.
Investor Strategy
Legora said it built the round around investors with a long time horizon and institutions that work closely with law firms and in-house legal teams. Atreides Management led the financing, while new and existing backers joined to support the company’s next stage. Gavin Baker, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Atreides, said, "Legal is a sophisticated market with demanding buyers, and the bar for software is high."
Rapid Revenue Growth
Legora reported that its annual recurring revenue grew from US$1 million to US$100 million in less than 18 months. The company said this pace was faster than any other enterprise software business selling through a direct sales team. The next US$100 million took less than six months, bringing ARR above US$200 million, and the new valuation compares with US$5.6 billion at the previous round.
Market Footprint and Customer Mix
In-house legal teams made up more than 40% of new customers in the third quarter, up from only a small fraction a year earlier. The United States is now Legora’s largest market by revenue, and more than half of the AmLaw 50 are customers. Legora opened its first US office in spring 2025 and now operates offices in New York, Denver, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, Toronto, and Mexico City.
Product Investment and Expansion
The new capital will support continued expansion across North America and in existing markets across Europe and Asia-Pacific. Legora is also deepening investment in the Legora aOS, the agentic operating system where lawyers and their agents work. Planned new products include agentic intake, horizon scanning, legal research, and other workflow capabilities.
Executive Perspectives
Max Junestrand, CEO and Co-Founder of Legora, said, "The opportunity in legal is enormous and we are still early." He added that AI is changing the role of the lawyer, with more time for judgment and advice, and reshaping how law firms and in-house legal teams are organized. David Eckstein, CFO at Legora, said, "Growth only counts if the business underneath it holds up."
Company Momentum
Legora was founded in 2023 and launched its platform in October 2024, reaching significant scale in a short period. It now has more than 1,000 employees across 18 offices worldwide. The platform is used by more than 140,000 legal professionals at more than 2,400 law firms and in-house legal teams across over 80 markets.
With a larger investor base, a fast-growing ARR base, and a broader geographic footprint, Legora is positioned to lead the shift toward agentic legal work. The company plans to use the Series E capital to strengthen its operating system and expand in key markets. The funding round reflects confidence in Legora’s ability to scale quickly while maintaining a disciplined business model.
