Shanghai-based cleaning robotics startup Jingji Intelligent has raised tens of millions of Chinese yuan in a Seed funding round. Strategic investors Haowen Tianshu Robotics and Shanghai Lanyun Industrial Development jointly provided the capital. The financing was disclosed on October 20, 2026, about one month after the company was established in September, and it signals early industrial confidence in the venture.

A Cleaning Segment Still Dependent on Labor

Jingji Intelligent focuses on cleaning vertical surfaces, countertops, and sanitary fixtures. Unlike floor cleaning, where automated solutions are mature, these areas still depend heavily on manual labor and are difficult to automate consistently. The startup is addressing a market in which contact consistency on irregular surfaces has long been a core technical challenge and a major cost burden.

The company applies force control, machine vision, and precision actuation techniques originally developed for medical robotics. It translates these capabilities into measurable standards for cleaning outcomes, rather than simply making machines move across surfaces. This approach is designed to define how much force and what trajectory are needed to clean a surface correctly and consistently.

Jingji Intelligent has completed the definition of its technical route and product architecture, and it is now entering product validation. The company's research and development base is located in Shanghai's Zhangjiang district, while its supply chain remains in China. It has already established strategic partnerships in Australia, Spain, Singapore, and Vietnam to support early customer access, product feedback, and future sales.

A Team with Medical Robotics Expertise

The founding team includes CEO Lu Han, a Tsinghua University graduate who focuses on aligning product definition with market demand. Chief Scientist Lyu Wener holds degrees from Tsinghua University and MIT and brings nearly two decades of robotics research and industrialization experience. Other core members come from Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and MIT, all with doctoral backgrounds and substantial industry expertise.

CEO Lu Han focuses on linking scenario requirements, product definition, and overseas market layout so that commercial goals guide research and delivery. The team's medical robotics background provides a disciplined approach to safety, precision, and reliability under real-world conditions. These qualities are central to the company's effort to move from technical validation to repeated customer purchases.

Use of Funds and Strategic Investors

Lu Han said the Seed proceeds will be used for three main purposes. The company will deepen core technology research and development around force control, vision, and precision execution, and it will accelerate product validation and iteration. It will also expand its overseas market presence through partners in Australia, Spain, Singapore, and Vietnam to bring products closer to paying customers.

Haowen Tianshu Robotics and Shanghai Lanyun Industrial Development joined the round as industrial investors rather than purely financial backers. Haowen Tianshu and its parent company can provide manufacturing and supply chain support, while Lanyun Industrial offers real-world cleaning scenarios and data feedback. The investors said they value the team's ability to build, deliver, and generate repeat purchases from customers.

Jingji Intelligent is keeping research, development, and supply chain operations in China, while delivery and revenue are focused on overseas customers. The company says this structure places products directly in front of paying clients in markets with high cleaning labor costs and few mature automated solutions. Commercial objectives are therefore expected to guide research and delivery from an early stage.

Jingji Intelligent's Seed round highlights a broader shift in hardtech and robotics from broad narratives toward focused commercial execution. By applying medical robotics expertise to a specific cleaning bottleneck, the company is targeting a market where labor costs and unmet demand create a clear incentive for automation. Its progress in product validation and overseas partnerships will be an early test of whether this technical approach can scale.
