Intuit Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire Sequence, a Series A revenue management company. Sequence automates the end-to-end quote-to-revenue process for businesses. The acquisition will extend Intuit's financial system of intelligence with new revenue management capabilities and strengthen its mid-market offerings, including Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced, although financial terms were not disclosed.

Strategic Rationale and Market Impact

Intuit is positioning the acquisition as a way to give mid-market businesses and accounting firms a single platform to price, bill, and collect on revenue tied to consumption, usage, seats, and milestones. Sequence replaces spreadsheets and manual billing workflows with an AI-native revenue management platform. The deal also allows Intuit to serve new industries, including B2B software and professional services, providing a modern alternative to legacy ERPs that still require manual work to manage revenue.

Leadership Perspective

Ashley Still, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Intuit's Small Business and Mid-Market Group, said pricing, billing, and collecting on complex usage-based and milestone-based revenue are key reasons growing businesses choose an ERP. She added that Sequence will let Intuit deliver mature revenue management and extend Intuit Enterprise Suite into B2B software and professional services. Riya Grover, Co-Founder and CEO of Sequence, described revenue management as fragmented and built the platform to automate the process with AI agents.

Transaction Details and Product Roadmap

Under the acquisition, Intuit will welcome the Sequence team, including Grover, who will join Intuit's Mid-Market product organization. Intuit gains a complete revenue management platform and AI engineering talent to help it deliver an AI-native ERP for growing, complex businesses. Intuit will continue to support Sequence's customers and develop an integrated offering in the coming months.

Company Background

Sequence was founded in 2021 and is based in London and New York. The company helps B2B finance and commercial teams automate the full quote-to-revenue lifecycle, including deal configuration and pricing, billing, invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition. It serves finance teams at high-growth software and services companies, including some of the fastest growing AI companies.

Context and Competitive Landscape

Intuit said Sequence will serve as a modern alternative to legacy ERP systems that still require manual work to manage revenue. The acquisition strengthens Intuit's position in mid-market financial software at a time when usage-based and hybrid pricing models are becoming more common. By integrating Sequence, Intuit can support businesses that increasingly leverage AI consumption models in B2B software and professional services.

Customer Impact and Availability

After the acquisition closes, Intuit will continue to support Sequence's existing customers and will make its capabilities available to new users over time. Intuit stated that it will develop an integrated offering in the coming months, although additional terms, conditions, and fees may apply. Product offers, features, and functionality are subject to change without notice, according to the company's disclosure.

Intuit's planned acquisition of Sequence represents a meaningful step in its strategy to build a powerful, AI-native ERP for growing and complex businesses. By adding automated revenue management to Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced, the company aims to address a critical pain point for mid-market firms. The transaction underscores Intuit's broader push into AI-driven financial workflows and positions it to compete more directly with legacy ERP providers.
