Google Cloud has announced a major initiative to bolster the artificial intelligence landscape in Southeast Asia through a new cross-border accelerator program. In collaboration with government agencies from Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam, the company is launching an AI startup innovation corridor. This strategic pathway is designed to connect the region’s most promising tech ventures directly with Silicon Valley’s ecosystem.

Building on a Successful Foundation

The new Google for Startups Accelerator: Southeast Asia aims to empower founders to develop and commercialize proprietary agentic AI products. This initiative builds upon the success of previous programs, which since 2018 have supported over 200 regional startups. These alumni have collectively raised US$6.6 billion in funding and created more than 11,300 jobs, demonstrating a strong track record of fostering growth.

A Direct Pathway to Global Markets

Designed for 25 Seed to Series B startups, the equity-free, three-month program will commence its inaugural cohort in August 2026. A central feature is an immersive residency in California, providing founders with direct engagement at Google's campuses and with venture capital clusters. This unique opportunity allows participants to stress-test their products and strategies against global benchmarks and forge critical international connections.

This direct exposure to Silicon Valley is intended to bridge what many founders describe as their most difficult challenge: the leap from achieving product-market fit to successful international expansion. By cultivating peer-level collaborations and institutional ties, the program provides a clear runway for startups to scale their operations. The experience is structured to equip them with the network and insights needed for sustainable global growth.

Unlocking Advanced AI Resources

Participants will gain access to a comprehensive support package, including up to US$350,000 in cloud credits. The program offers access to Google Cloud’s full-stack AI capabilities, from advanced Tensor Processing Units to the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. These resources are tailored to support the end-to-end training, fine-tuning, and deployment of secure and sophisticated AI agents for enterprise use.

Beyond infrastructure, the accelerator provides a distinct competitive edge through early access to Google’s next-generation AI models and tools. Startups will benefit from hands-on technical bootcamps and high-touch advisory from engineers at Google Cloud and Google DeepMind. This is complemented by mentorship from a broad partner network of venture capital firms, established unicorns, and specialist consultancies to overcome scaling hurdles.

Strengthening Southeast Asia's AI Ecosystem

The collaboration with Enterprise Singapore is a key component of Google’s “Majulah AI” initiative, aiming to advance the global ambitions of local ventures. Both organizations are focused on supporting entrepreneurs at every stage, cementing Singapore’s position as a trusted hub for proven solutions. This partnership helps ensure that startups are well-equipped to compete on the world stage and drive meaningful economic impact.

Partners in Indonesia and Vietnam view the program as a vital catalyst for accelerating their national digital transformations and boosting competitiveness. Leaders from Indonesia’s Komdigi and Vietnam’s NIC and SIHUB emphasized the initiative's role as a bridge for local talent. It facilitates the transformation of research breakthroughs into enterprise solutions while creating a two-way corridor for innovation and market entry.

Ultimately, the Google for Startups Accelerator represents a significant and strategic investment in cultivating a world-class AI ecosystem across Southeast Asia. By providing unparalleled access to technology, mentorship, and global networks, the initiative is poised to launch the next generation of global AI companies from the region. It marks a concerted effort to empower local innovators to build and scale transformative solutions for a global audience.
