Beijing Galbot Co. Ltd. has secured a landmark $363 million in new financing, a move it claims establishes it as the most valuable unlisted humanoid robotics company. This capital injection highlights a surge in investor confidence in China's embodied artificial intelligence sector. The funding is set to fuel the company's ambitious plans for mass production and commercial expansion.


Strategic Backing from National and Industrial Giants

The funding round attracted high-profile investors, including the China Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund and Sinopec, marking a significant endorsement from national-level entities. Other participants include CITIC-affiliated bodies and SAIC Motor’s financial arm, with existing shareholders also increasing their stakes. This diverse backing signals strong confidence in Galbot's technological roadmap and market potential from state and industrial leaders.

A Foundation of Academic Excellence

Galbot's technological prowess is rooted in its academic origins, founded in 2023 by Dr. Wang He, a distinguished Peking University researcher and Stanford University graduate. Dr. Wang is a pioneer in end-to-end embodied large model research, having established China's first academic lab in the field. This scholarly background provides the company with a unique foundation for innovation and technological originality.

The company's core team comprises experts from top global institutions, creating a full-stack capability that integrates the "brain, cerebellum, and body" of its robotic systems. Galbot asserts it is the first to successfully close the industrial loop, combining high-quality datasets with end-to-end embodied large models for large-scale application. Revolutionizing Industrial Manufacturing

In the industrial sector, Galbot has made significant inroads with its flagship heavy-duty robot, the Galbot S1, which addresses critical payload bottlenecks. The robot features dual arms with a 50 kg payload capacity and is designed to operate continuously in harsh industrial conditions. Its capabilities are enhanced by an embodied logistics model and an autonomous battery-swapping system.

The company has secured deep partnerships with global manufacturing leaders, including CATL, Bosch, Toyota, and SAIC Motor, accumulating orders for several thousand units. The Galbot S1 has achieved fully autonomous operations within CATL's battery factories, making it the only humanoid robot currently operating at scale there. This real-world deployment validates the robot's industrial-grade performance and reliability in demanding production environments.

Pioneering Autonomous Consumer Applications

Beyond manufacturing, Galbot is expanding into consumer-facing markets with innovative autonomous solutions. Its "Galaxy Capsule" convenience store model has rapidly scaled to over 100 locations across more than 20 Chinese cities in under six months. This achievement marks the world's first deployment of over 100 robots in fully autonomous commercial retail operations.

The company has also set a global record in instant retail by operating a 24/7 fully autonomous warehouse for over a year. These facilities, now in 24 cities, each manage over 5,000 distinct product SKUs, turning the concept of round-the-clock retail into a practical reality. This success demonstrates the commercial sustainability of embodied AI in high-demand consumer scenarios.


This latest funding round, backed by major industrial and strategic investors, positions Galbot to accelerate its expansion across the energy, manufacturing, and real estate sectors.
