Kimba Connect is engineered to serve as a central hub for open innovation, directly linking the needs of large enterprises with the agility of Gabonese startups. The launch event underscored the initiative's importance, drawing attendance from high-level officials including the Vice-President of the Government and the President of the Federation of Gabonese Enterprises. The Kimba Connect platform is poised to provide significant opportunities for Gabon's estimated 150 to 200 startups by facilitating easier access to the market. Selected startups will receive dedicated technical and financial support to help scale their innovative projects effectively.
This support will be provided by key financial partners, including the Société de Garantie du Gabon (SGG) and the Banque pour le Commerce et l’Entrepreneuriat du Gabon (BCEG). With applications now officially open, a clear timeline has been set for the national Open Innovation challenge. Project pre-selection is scheduled for July 24, 2026, with the final selection of solutions announced on August 4, 2026.
