Decade, a wealth management platform that combines artificial intelligence with human consultants, announced that Rodrigo Guedes Xavier has joined its investment advisory board. The executive brings more than three decades of experience across Brazilian and international financial markets, including leadership positions at major banks and asset managers. His appointment strengthens the company's strategic guidance as it develops technology driven wealth services for a new generation of investors.

Advisory Board Expansion

Rodrigo Guedes Xavier has built a career at some of the most influential institutions in Brazilian finance. He served as CEO of Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Brazil, partner and executive committee member at Banco Pactual, CEO of UBS Pactual, and cofounder of Vinci Partners. This background gives Decade direct access to expertise in investment banking, asset management, and private equity, areas that are central to sophisticated wealth management.

Technology Bridge

More recently, Xavier created the Brazil At Silicon Valley initiative while at Stanford University. The program is designed to build a bridge between California's innovation ecosystem and Brazilian startup founders and asset managers. He said that after spending decades following financial market evolution, he began to see new possibilities for transforming how people relate to their finances.

Company Origins

Decade was founded by Vitor Olivier, former chief technology officer of Nubank, and Felipe Meneses, cofounder of Hyperplane, an artificial intelligence company acquired by the bank. The platform opened to the public on August 4 after five months of internal testing, a period used to refine its product and client experience. Its launch was backed by investors who see potential in combining artificial intelligence with human advisory services.

Record Seed Round

The company raised US$85 million in a Seed round supported by Greenoaks, Benchmark, and Diffusion. According to the Latin American Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, or LAVCA, this was the largest Seed round ever recorded in Latin America. The strong early funding reflects investor confidence in Decade's approach to modernizing wealth management through technology and personalized advice.

Platform Capabilities

Decade's technology consolidates assets and expenses, monitors portfolios, and identifies fees, tax inefficiencies, concentration risks, and liquidity gaps across a client's financial life. The platform pairs artificial intelligence with human consultants to provide a more complete view of personal finances. This combination allows clients to address hidden costs and structural risks that often go unnoticed in traditional wealth management.

Leadership and Momentum

Vitor Olivier highlighted the value of bringing together different professional perspectives, noting that Xavier spent decades understanding financial market dynamics before immersing himself in technology. Olivier added that he built his career developing technology and learned about financial challenges during his years at Nubank. Xavier is the second investment advisor announced by Decade, following Florian Bartunek, cofounder and CEO of Constellation, a stock fund manager.

The addition of Rodrigo Guedes Xavier reinforces Decade's commitment to blending financial expertise with artificial intelligence. With a record Seed round, experienced founders, and a growing advisory board, the company is positioning itself as a notable player in wealth management. Its continued focus on efficiency, transparency, and personalized service may help define how investors manage their assets in the coming decades.
