Australian advertising technology startup Cuttable has secured $20 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-powered platform for digital ad creation. The round was led by Airtree Ventures, with participation from Square Peg, Rampersand, and Glitch Capital. The investment values the Melbourne-based company at more than $100 million.

How Cuttable Automates Ad Production

Cuttable helps brands transform existing photos and videos into advertising creatives for platforms such as Meta and TikTok. The platform analyzes a brand's Meta content and Shopify order data to generate multiple ad variations using existing marketing assets. It also tracks messaging elements including price promotions and product storytelling to help brands organize and test different approaches.

Before an advertisement is published, it must be approved by a human, ensuring a review process remains in place for AI-generated content. Cuttable is also extending its platform beyond ad production to cover decisions about what to create and what each ad earns. It draws on a continuous loop of performance data from partners such as Meta, TikTok, Shopify, and Klaviyo.

Funding Plans and Global Expansion

The fresh capital will support Cuttable's growth, product development, and international expansion following its 2026 launch in the United States. The company's teams in Melbourne, New York, and San Francisco will support these priorities. The investment will also help the company scale its platform across new markets, including a larger presence in North America and other regions.

Cuttable reports 420 brands across the US, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Europe. Its customers include lululemon, Cotton On, July, Kathmandu, and Conserving Beauty. This global customer base provides a strong foundation for testing and refining the platform's automated creative capabilities across a mix of established retailers and digitally native brands.

Founding Team and Company Background

Cuttable was founded in 2023 in Melbourne and is led by co-CEOs Sam Kroonenburg and Jack White, with Ed Ring serving as Chief Operating Officer. Kroonenburg previously co-founded A Cloud Guru, an online cloud computing education platform acquired by Pluralsight for approximately $2 billion in 2021. The leadership team combines experience in scaling technology companies and managing operational growth.

Market Context and Competitive Landscape

The funding arrives as businesses increasingly use AI to reduce the time and cost of digital advertising production. By automating parts of the creative process, Cuttable aims to help brands generate and test more ad variations without manually producing every asset. However, major advertising platforms such as Meta have introduced their own AI-powered creative tools, increasing competition.

What Comes Next for Cuttable

With $20 million in fresh capital and a valuation exceeding $100 million, Cuttable is positioning itself to expand its AI-powered advertising technology. Its next phase will depend on adoption among brands and marketers, the effectiveness of its generated creatives, and its ability to differentiate from native platform tools. The company must also demonstrate measurable improvements in advertising performance, production speed, and campaign management.

Cuttable's Series A round underscores the growing demand for AI tools that simplify digital advertising and improve performance. The company brings together consumer data, creative generation, and performance tracking in a single platform for ecommerce brands. As it expands in the United States and other markets, Cuttable's ability to deliver clear results will determine how effectively it competes with platform-native AI solutions.
