Dubai-based crowdshipping startup Paquik has successfully closed an $85,000 pre-seed funding round to launch its innovative cross-border delivery platform. The investment, fully subscribed by angel investors in November 2025, will fuel the rollout of its marketplace connecting parcel senders with verified travelers. This model aims to monetize unused luggage space and offer a modern, peer-to-peer alternative to traditional international courier services.

An Innovative Approach to Logistics

Paquik operates on an asset-light model, functioning as a digital marketplace rather than a traditional logistics company with physical infrastructure. It connects individuals needing to send items internationally with travelers who have available space in their luggage. The platform's core function is to facilitate these peer-to-peer transactions, coordinating deliveries without owning fleets, aircraft, or warehouses.

Building Trust in a Peer-to-Peer Network

To ensure security and build user confidence, the company has integrated several critical trust-building mechanisms into its platform. These features include comprehensive identity verification (KYC), secure escrow-based payments, and a transparent rating and review system. This framework is designed to formalize the process and mitigate the risks often associated with informal, peer-to-peer shipping arrangements.

Tapping into a Growing Market

The crowdshipping model taps into the global growth of cross-border travel, offering a complementary layer to the established logistics industry. Founder George Antakis noted that technology now enables the creation of trust between strangers, a key factor in unlocking this potential. Paquik's platform leverages this trend by creating earning opportunities for travelers while providing a faster, more affordable option for senders.

Strategic Launch and Early Market Traction

The company initiated its operations by strategically targeting the UAE–Egypt corridor, a route known for its high passenger volume and strong demand for personal parcel shipments. This targeted launch has yielded impressive early results, with the platform attracting over 17,000 registered users. Paquik has also generated more than $10,000 in revenue during its initial months, validating its market fit.

Allocation of Capital and Future Expansion

The newly acquired $85,000 will be strategically allocated to accelerate the company's growth and enhance its operational capabilities. The capital will support product improvements, expand verification systems, and grow the engineering and customer support teams. These investments are crucial for scaling the platform and improving the overall user experience for both senders and travelers.

Looking ahead, Paquik has outlined a clear roadmap for expansion, with plans to enter additional GCC travel routes by 2026. The company will focus on high-frequency corridors where significant passenger traffic overlaps with consistent demand for small-parcel deliveries. This strategy aims to replicate the success of its initial launch and solidify its position in the regional logistics market.

Paquik's successful pre-seed funding round marks a significant step forward for the burgeoning crowdshipping sector in the Middle East. By leveraging technology to build trust and efficiency, the company is well-positioned to disrupt conventional cross-border logistics. This infusion of capital will enable Paquik to scale its operations, refine its platform, and continue its mission to make international shipping more accessible and affordable.
