Consor North America, Inc. has acquired ConeLabs Inc., a pioneering technology company that is transforming how critical infrastructure is inspected, assessed, and managed. The acquisition was announced on October 14, 2026, and it brings ConeLabs' proprietary inspection platform into Consor's service portfolio. The move is intended to help infrastructure owners conduct more comprehensive assessments and make faster, more informed maintenance and investment decisions.

Technology Behind the Acquisition

ConeLabs has built an end-to-end inspection platform that connects field data capture, high-resolution 3D modeling, AI-assisted inspection, and reporting in a single digital workflow. The platform constructs high-resolution 3D models and digital twins from field imagery, then applies semantic data analysis to measure and map defects directly on the model. Through partnerships with departments of transportation across multiple states, ConeLabs has demonstrated the platform's effectiveness for bridges, roads, utilities, and buildings.

Strategic Rationale

For Consor, the acquisition strengthens a technology portfolio that already includes connected roadway solutions through its Cavnue division and AI-enabled applications for flood management. The firm sees the ConeLabs platform as a way to enhance structural assessment services and deliver deeper insight into asset conditions. This aligns with Consor's wider commitment to intelligent, future-ready infrastructure across the entire asset lifecycle.

Leadership Comments

Mindy Shimanek, CEO of Consor, described the ConeLabs platform as the next evolution in infrastructure inspection and said the acquisition is consistent with the company's commitment to innovation. She emphasized that Consor's structural assessment professionals are nationally recognized for technical expertise, helping shape industry practices through training and standards development. By combining that expertise with ConeLabs' technology, Shimanek said the organization is creating new possibilities for proactive, data-informed infrastructure management.

Cultural and Technical Fit

Albert Mansour, CEO and Co-Founder of ConeLabs, said joining Consor presents an opportunity to deploy the company's technology across some of the most sophisticated structural inspection work in the industry. He noted that ConeLabs and Consor share a belief that technology should be built around how engineers work, providing better tools to understand infrastructure conditions. Mansour added that Consor brings the engineering expertise, industry relationships, and scale needed to accelerate innovation while maintaining the technical rigor that infrastructure owners expect.

Investor and Market Context

Consor is backed by New Mountain Capital, a growth-oriented investment firm with nearly US$60 billion in assets under management. ConeLabs was previously backed by a number of investors, including Spatial Capital. The transaction reflects continued investment in technology-enabled infrastructure services at a time when asset owners are seeking more efficient inspection and maintenance approaches.

Company Profiles

Consor brings together more than 1,800 professionals across the United States and Canada, providing advisory, planning, digital solutions, engineering design, structural assessment, construction management, and program delivery services. The firm has a legacy spanning more than 50 years and operates with a partner-led, employee-owned model. ConeLabs, built by engineers for engineers, serves owners of buildings, utilities, and transportation infrastructure, including bridges and roads.

The acquisition of ConeLabs underscores Consor's commitment to modernizing infrastructure management through practical technology adoption. By integrating AI-enabled inspection and digital twin capabilities with deep structural engineering expertise, the combined organization is positioned to deliver more proactive, data-rich asset insights. Infrastructure owners can expect more comprehensive assessments, clearer condition data, and better support for long-term investment decisions.
