Circular has introduced its new Ring 3 Series at IFA 2026 in Berlin, expanding its smart ring lineup with contactless payments, longer battery life, and upgraded health-monitoring capabilities. The new generation includes the Circular Ring 3 Pro and the lighter Ring 3 Slim, giving users a choice between a more feature-rich wearable and a compact model focused on everyday wellness tracking. Both products are designed to combine health insights with practical functions that users can access throughout the day without relying on a phone or smartwatch.
Payments Become a Core Feature
A major addition to the Ring 3 generation is NFC-based contactless payment support for compatible Visa and Mastercard accounts, allowing wearers to make purchases directly from the ring. Circular is positioning the feature as part of a broader effort to make smart rings more useful beyond passive health tracking by integrating financial transactions into the same wearable device. The company has not yet disclosed regional pricing or preorder dates, saying those details will be announced in the coming months.
Ring 3 Pro Targets Advanced Health Tracking
The Ring 3 Pro is the flagship model and includes a broader suite of health-monitoring tools, including an FDA-cleared ECG function for atrial fibrillation detection. It also supports blood pressure trend monitoring, glucose-related insights, oxygen saturation tracking, heart rate variability analysis, sleep tracking, and other biometric measurements. Circular says the device can deliver up to 12 days of battery life, nearly doubling the endurance of the previous generation.
Haptic Alerts Return to the Ring
Circular is also bringing back a haptic vibration system that can deliver discreet alerts directly on the finger without requiring a screen. On the Ring 3 Pro, the feature is intended for functions such as silent wake-up alarms, medication reminders, guided breathing prompts, and health-related notifications. The return of haptics reinforces Circular’s strategy of packing more interactive functionality into a form factor that remains substantially smaller than a smartwatch.
A Slimmer Alternative
The Ring 3 Slim is designed for users who want a lighter and less complex wearable focused on core wellness features rather than the full set of advanced sensors. It tracks metrics including sleep, activity, skin temperature, and heart rate, while offering up to 10 days of battery life in a thinner frame than the Pro model. The Slim version does not include the Pro model’s ECG capability or haptic motor, reflecting Circular’s decision to trade some functionality for reduced size and weight.
Design and Software Integration
Both Ring 3 models are built from titanium steel, offer water resistance to 50 meters, support wireless charging, and will be available in sizes 6 through 14. The rings also work with Kira, Circular’s AI-driven health assistant, which is intended to help users interpret wellness data and make the information collected by the devices more actionable. Circular is continuing the broader design approach established with its earlier rings while adding features intended to make the devices more practical in daily use.
