Chinese robotics company UBTECH has completed a Series A+ financing round worth about RMB 100 million, or roughly $13.9 million, to support the next phase of its product and technology development. The round was led by Dongzheng Capital, with Jinan Xianxing Investment Group and Zibo High-tech Zone Venture Capital joining as new shareholders. Existing angel investor Legend Star also participated, bringing the company’s cumulative financing to several hundred million yuan.
Funding Supports Product Expansion
UBTECH said the new capital will be directed toward technology upgrades and the development of a broader range of robotics products. Planned projects include a new generation of high-power-density integrated joint modules, industrial and consumer-grade humanoid robots, as well as heavy-load and explosion-proof quadruped robots. The company is seeking to strengthen its product portfolio while expanding the practical applications of its systems across demanding operating environments.
Full-Stack Robotics Technology
The company specializes in legged bionic robots, humanoid robots and hydraulic special-purpose robots, with expertise spanning motor-driven, hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems. Its technical team has roots in the Robotics Research Center of Shandong University and the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. UBTECH says it has developed a full-stack technology system covering core components, robot hardware, motion-control systems and higher-level intelligent computing capabilities.
UBTECH is also working on high-dynamic motion control and embodied perception technologies for legged robots, using approaches that include world models and reinforcement learning. Its architecture combines high computing power with relatively low power consumption, supporting the development of integrated controllers built around domestically produced technologies. These efforts are intended to improve the autonomy, responsiveness and reliability of robots operating in complex and unpredictable environments.
Commercial Deployment Across Industries
Since the beginning of 2026, UBTECH has pursued a strategy that combines technology development with expanded deployment in real-world scenarios. Its quadruped and humanoid robot products have undergone generational upgrades, while demonstration projects have expanded across highways, communications, power infrastructure, tourism and ports. The company also sees applications in energy, emergency rescue, intelligent transportation and public safety, where robots can take on repetitive, remote or hazardous operational tasks.
The financing comes as competition in embodied intelligence and advanced robotics continues to intensify, with companies under pressure to improve both technical performance and commercialization. UBTECH is positioning its product strategy around reliable operation rather than concept demonstrations, particularly in environments where safety and durability are critical. The company plans to use the new funding to accelerate the conversion of its technical capabilities into scalable deployment and delivery.
Scaling Production and Service Capacity
Chairman and General Manager Fan Yong said the company’s focus is on building robots that can perform reliably under complex conditions rather than simply demonstrating new concepts. Following the financing, UBTECH plans to expand its nationwide production and service network while continuing development for applications in mining, emergency response and power-related environments. The longer-term objective is to position robots as an extension of human operational capability in tasks that are difficult, dangerous or labor-intensive.
Legend Star partner Gao Tianyao said the investor has continued to support UBTECH since its early-stage financing and has observed the company’s evolution in both team development and strategic direction. He noted that embodied intelligence remains a challenging and highly competitive field, but said UBTECH has continued to build around its own technical strengths. The investor expects the company to deepen its full-stack development capabilities as it moves into its next phase of growth.
UBTECH’s Series A+ round provides fresh capital for a broader push into humanoid, quadruped and specialized industrial robotics. The company is combining component development, motion control, intelligent systems and commercial deployment as it expands into more demanding use cases. Its progress will depend on how effectively it can translate technical advances into scalable products, reliable field performance and wider adoption across industrial and public-sector applications.
