Chilean entrepreneurs who register a company through the Ministry of Economy's Tu Empresa en un Día platform can now request a Fintoc Business Account directly from the same portal. The agreement links business formation with digital financial tools, using data already submitted during the registration process. The move aims to reduce delays that often occur when new companies seek bank accounts to receive and send payments.

Simplifying Business Onboarding

The integration was announced as a collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and Fintoc Pagos S.A., a regulated non-bank issuer supervised by the Chilean financial regulator. Entrepreneurs will have the option to apply for a Fintoc account immediately after their company is constituted. This voluntary step is intended to help small and medium-sized businesses start operating more quickly.

Leadership Perspective

Cristóbal Griffero, CEO and co-founder of Fintoc, explained that opening a bank account is often more complicated and slower than a new business requires. He said companies created through the platform can now choose a Fintoc account pre-installed with capabilities to send and receive various types of payments. The service is designed to give entrepreneurs immediate access to essential payment infrastructure.

How the Voluntary Process Works

The process begins when a user completes company registration on Tu Empresa en un Día. The Registry of Companies and Societies validates the user's identity through Clave Única and confirms the company is active. All partners must expressly authorize the transfer of their information to Fintoc before any account application proceeds.

Reusing Registry Data

Information such as tax identification number, legal name, contact details, and corporate records can be reused from the registry. Fintoc then evaluates the account opening request according to legal requirements and may request additional documents if necessary. The opt-in mechanism ensures that applicants control whether their own data is shared.

Programmable Accounts and AI Assistance

Fintoc Business Accounts, launched in August 2026, is described as a fully programmable company account. Businesses can assign a distinct account number to each customer or purchase order, which helps identify incoming transfers and simplifies reconciliation. The product emerged after Fintoc began operating as a non-bank issuer under the oversight of the CMF.

Luna AI and Operational Efficiency

The account also includes Luna, Fintoc's artificial intelligence agent, which can program transfers based on operational needs. Because Luna is connected to payment operations, it uses that context to answer questions, analyze movements, and execute actions through conversation. This feature is intended to support more automated and efficient financial management for small businesses.

A Growing Entrepreneurial Base

The announcement comes amid a notable increase in business formation in Chile. Between January and August 2026, 161,318 companies and societies were constituted, representing an increase of about 11% compared with the same period in 2025. The government and Fintoc see this growth as a reason to simplify the transition from registration to daily operations.

Government Support for New Businesses

Karlfranz Koehler, Undersecretary of Economy and Smaller Enterprises, said the initiative aims to make life easier for small businesses and those who dare to start a venture. He noted that entrepreneurs who create their company through the platform can automatically request digital payment methods. The partnership supports the government's broader goal of reducing administrative barriers for new enterprises.

By connecting company formation with a voluntary financial account application, the agreement between the Ministry of Economy and Fintoc addresses a common friction point for new businesses in Chile. Entrepreneurs can now move from registration to payment readiness without repeating administrative processes or waiting through separate bank onboarding steps. As more companies are created each year, this type of integration may become an important part of the country's entrepreneurial support ecosystem.
