Alpaca, a brokerage infrastructure API company, has successfully secured $135 million in a new financing round. The investment was led by Peak XV, with significant contributions from Elefund and other new and returning investors. This latest capital injection brings the company's total financing to $435 million, including debt, positioning it for continued growth.

Fueling Global Expansion and Business Growth

The funding follows a period of substantial business growth and strategic international expansion for the company. Alpaca recently established a regulated presence in India by acquiring an IFSCA-regulated broker-dealer. This move complements its acquisition of regulated entities in the UK and Europe, enabling passporting across all 30 EEA countries.

This global footprint has been matched by impressive operational performance and product development. The company has successfully launched global equities access, beginning with European equities trading for its diverse client base. Furthermore, Alpaca has doubled its revenue year over year for three consecutive years, demonstrating strong market demand.

Client adoption and platform engagement have also seen remarkable increases, reflecting the platform's growing influence. The company has onboarded major global crypto exchanges, tokenization platforms, and established financial institutions. Monthly active API users surged nearly fourfold in the last six months as it expanded its agentic AI capabilities.

Pioneering the Future of Finance with AI and Tokenization

Alpaca's recent success is strategically aligned with two transformative trends reshaping the global financial landscape. The first is the tokenization of financial assets, which involves moving traditional securities onto the blockchain. The second major shift is the acceleration of AI in creating new financial applications and market participants.

These converging trends are fueling demand for modern, regulated infrastructure that bridges traditional and onchain markets. Yoshi Yokokawa, Co-Founder and CEO of Alpaca, stated the company is uniquely positioned to become the default infrastructure layer for this new era. He emphasized that investor support reflects confidence in Alpaca's execution and the significant market opportunity ahead.

Strong Investor Confidence in a Modern Infrastructure Stack

The financing round saw participation from a strong syndicate of investors, signaling robust confidence in Alpaca's vision. Besides lead investor Peak XV and major participant Elefund, the round included Opera Tech Ventures and Unbound. This backing underscores the belief in the company's potential to redefine financial infrastructure for a new generation.

Aakash Kapoor, Principal at Peak XV Partners, highlighted the firm's conviction in Alpaca's foundational role. He noted that financial markets are becoming increasingly connected and programmable, presenting a tremendous growth opportunity. Kapoor praised Alpaca for powering institutions and enabling new categories like tokenization and agentic trading through a single API.

Accelerating Infrastructure for a New Financial Paradigm

The new capital will be instrumental in accelerating the development of Alpaca's core offerings. The company plans to enhance its agent-first brokerage and API-first prime brokerage infrastructure to meet evolving client needs. This will empower clients to build and scale innovative investing products across both traditional and onchain markets.

This $135 million financing marks a significant milestone for Alpaca, reinforcing its leadership in the financial technology sector. The investment will fuel its mission to provide regulated infrastructure connecting global markets, tokenized assets, and AI-native services. As the industry transforms, Alpaca is well-capitalized to scale its platform and shape the future of investing.
