Bricks.sh, an AI-native platform for building internal tools, has closed an oversubscribed $1.8 million pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Primo Capital, with participation from Octopus Ventures, Vento, Eden Ventures, Vesper Holding, and a group of industry operators. Alongside the funding announcement, the company launched the public beta of its platform, offering businesses a faster and more flexible way to create internal tools.
Addressing a Long-Standing Trade-Off
For decades, companies have faced a fundamental trade-off when building internal tools: speed versus customisation. Tailored solutions often require significant engineering time, while faster options tend to sacrifice flexibility and specificity. Bricks.sh aims to resolve this challenge by combining automation with user-driven customisation.
A New Generation of Internal Tool Builders
The platform leverages AI to autogenerate up to 95% of an admin panel in just three clicks. Business teams can then customise the remaining 5%, ensuring that the tools reflect their specific workflows and data requirements. Unlike traditional one-size-fits-all solutions, Bricks.sh generates opinionated products that adapt to the underlying data and use cases of each organisation.
How the Platform Works
Users can create ready-to-use admin panels by connecting their APIs and databases, including popular options like Supabase. The platform automatically synchronises with any changes in the data, such as new fields or updated tables, reducing maintenance time for developers. This combination of automation and adaptability allows both technical and non-technical teams to work with internal systems efficiently.
Funding and Strategic Support
The pre-seed round attracted strategic investors and angel participants with deep experience in tech operations. Notable contributors include Gianluca Cocco of Qomodo, Filippo Conforti of Commerce Layer, and the founding team of Smartness, an online operations automation company. The backing underscores confidence in Bricks.sh’s vision to redefine how internal tools are created and maintained.
Founder’s Vision
Dario Di Carlo, CEO and founder of Bricks.sh, explained that a large portion of engineering resources is traditionally spent on building internal tools that neither drive revenue nor meet business needs. “We built Bricks.sh to end the trade-off between speed and customisation once and for all,” he said. The platform is designed to deliver rapid development for technical teams while giving operational teams the freedom to tailor their tools.
Looking Ahead
With the new funding, Bricks.sh plans to expand its global reach and complete the hiring of its founding team. The company is actively seeking talent to join its mission of reshaping internal software development. By simplifying the creation and maintenance of internal tools, Bricks.sh hopes to transform how companies operate and interact with their data.
Bricks.sh is positioning itself at the forefront of AI-driven internal tool development, offering speed, customisation, and efficiency in one platform. Its public beta makes it accessible to businesses looking for a more intuitive and adaptable approach to internal systems. With strong investor backing and a clear roadmap, the company aims to redefine the landscape of internal software tools for modern enterprises.
