Blackwall, a web traffic management platform serving the hosting market, has raised US$100 million in a Series C round at a US$2.2 billion valuation. The round was led by AVP, with participation from existing investors Dawn Capital, MMC Ventures, and Tera Ventures. The company says the financing makes it Europe's most valuable cybersecurity scaleup to date and will support its expansion across global hosting and infrastructure markets.

Platform and Market Position

Blackwall operates by connecting hosting providers, infrastructure, and technology to give businesses greater control over how internet traffic is managed, secured, and monetized. Its platform is deployed inside web hosting providers' own infrastructure, where it filters billions of requests per day. Capabilities include bot mitigation, DDoS protection, web application firewall, load balancing, server-side encryption, and management of agentic AI traffic that is increasingly reshaping the internet.

Use of Funds and Global Expansion

The new capital will be used to scale Blackwall's global presence across 12 strategic regions spanning North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. Funding will also expand the platform with new traffic security capabilities for hosting, cloud, and managed service providers. These additions are intended to help providers address a broader share of their customers' traffic management needs through a single infrastructure layer.

Business Model and Hosting Economics

Blackwall partners with web hosting, managed service, and cloud providers that run much of the web, a market it values at US$200 billion. Unlike hyperscale platforms that compete with providers, Blackwall sits inside provider infrastructure and strengthens the relationship between the provider and the businesses it hosts. For providers, the platform cuts costs by stopping unwanted traffic before it reaches servers and creates revenue by allowing them to package security features as their own products.

Investor Commentary

Warda Shaheen, General Partner at AVP, said Blackwall has built a security company that grows with the internet itself. She noted that the company is already the layer in front of millions of websites and becomes indispensable as more traffic comes from agents. Norman Fiore, General Partner at Dawn Capital, added that a tsunami of agents will overwhelm infrastructure optimized for human traffic, and Blackwall is already delivering infrastructure for the coming agentic web.

Founder's Vision and Early Backing

Nikita Rozenberg, Co-Founder and CEO of Blackwall, said the web is becoming more automated, distributed, and complex while the infrastructure that powers it remains highly fragmented. He stated that the funding allows the company to expand globally and give providers the technology they need for the next generation of the web. Stanislav Ivanov, Founding Partner at Tera Ventures, said the firm backed Blackwall from day one and sees it as a born-global company.

With its Series C round, Blackwall gains additional resources to scale a platform that sits at the intersection of hosting infrastructure and internet traffic management. The company's focus on agentic AI traffic and its position in front of millions of websites make the announcement a notable signal for the European cybersecurity ecosystem. Investors and founders are betting that the providers powering the web will need a new layer of infrastructure to manage security, performance, and monetization as automated traffic grows.
