Auraska Ventures has officially launched as a new alternate investment and strategic advisory platform focused on India's burgeoning cultural economy. The firm introduces a unique, integrated model combining advisory services, venture building, and a planned ₹500 crore fund. This initiative aims to institutionalize capital in high-growth sectors like media, entertainment, sports, and gaming, which have traditionally lacked dedicated investment vehicles.

Capitalizing on India's 'Orange Economy'

The launch of Auraska Ventures is timed to coincide with significant growth and recognition for India's creative industries, often termed the 'Orange Economy'. The country's media and entertainment sector is projected to surpass ₹3 trillion by 2027, while online gaming is expanding at a 28% compound annual growth rate. This rapid expansion, coupled with government support, has created a fertile ground for specialized investment platforms.

A Unique Three-Pillar Approach

Auraska's strategy is built on three interconnected pillars designed to create a self-reinforcing ecosystem for growth and deal flow. The first is a strategic advisory practice with a leadership team that has collectively managed over USD 3 billion in transactions. This arm provides expertise in mergers, acquisitions, and fundraising, generating proprietary opportunities for the firm's investment activities.

The second pillar is the Auraska Opportunities Fund, a planned ₹500 crore SEBI-registered Category II AIF. This fund will target 10 to 15 investments in companies from seed to Series B stages across the cultural spectrum. Its investor base, comprising high-net-worth individuals, celebrities, and family offices, is expected to act as cultural amplifiers for portfolio companies.

Completing the platform is an active venture-building arm that incubates new businesses in high-potential niches. Current projects include ventures in celebrity digital rights protection against AI-generated content, legal tech solutions, and consumer brands driven by intellectual property. This hands-on approach provides the team with deep operational insights into the sectors where it invests.

Experienced Leadership and Strategic Vision

The platform is helmed by Founder and CEO Vishal Mahajan, a veteran with 27 years of experience in alternate investments and investment banking. He emphasized that India's cultural economy is generating unprecedented global influence, creating a structural opportunity that has been largely overlooked by institutional capital. Mahajan stated that Auraska is built to be an operator-led platform, not just a distant financier.

Stuti Shetty, the Chief Business Officer, brings expertise in managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals across the UAE, India, and the UK. She highlighted that the firm's investor network provides more than just capital, offering influence, access, and strategic value. This alignment between capital and culture enables founders to scale with enhanced visibility and market access.

With its formal launch, Auraska Ventures positions itself as a pioneering force dedicated to channeling institutional investment into India's vibrant cultural economy. The firm's integrated model of advisory, investing, and venture building offers a comprehensive support system for entrepreneurs in this space. As India's soft power continues to expand, Auraska's ambition to deploy over a billion dollars in the next decade signals a new era of structured financial backing for the nation's creative sectors.
