Anveshan, a direct-to-consumer food brand championing traditional nutrition, has successfully secured ₹150 crore (approximately $15.8 million) in its Series B funding round. The investment was led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, with significant participation from the International Finance Corporation and Swiggy co-founder Sriharsha Majety. This new capital is earmarked to enhance the company's manufacturing capabilities, accelerate product innovation, and broaden its market presence across India.

Strategic Capital for Expansion

The company plans to allocate the fresh capital towards significantly strengthening its manufacturing capabilities and accelerating its product innovation pipeline. This strategic investment will also fuel the expansion of its omnichannel presence, covering both its owned digital platforms and offline retail channels. By bolstering its core infrastructure, Anveshan aims to make its portfolio of clean-label food products more accessible to a wider consumer base.

Deepening Sourcing and Quality Assurance

A key focus for Anveshan will be to deepen its partnerships with the network of micro-entrepreneurs and traditional food producers who form its supply chain backbone. The funds will support crucial improvements in procurement systems and advanced testing capabilities to guarantee product authenticity and superior quality. This commitment reinforces the brand's core promise of transparency and sourcing from trusted, rural origins, building strong consumer trust.

Ambitious Growth Trajectory

Anveshan is currently operating at an impressive annual revenue run rate of ₹280-₹300 crore, demonstrating strong market traction since its founding in 2020. With this new infusion of capital, the company has set an ambitious target to surpass the ₹1,000 crore revenue mark within the next 24 to 30 months. This growth will be driven by key focus areas, including expanding its popular atta portfolio and scaling its distribution network.

Investor Confidence in a Premiumizing Market

The funding round reflects strong investor confidence in Anveshan's business model amid the growing trend of premiumization in India's food market. Kanika Mayar of Vertex Ventures noted the increasing consumer demand for transparency, quality, and trust in the products they consume. Anveshan's ability to build strong consumer affinity through its unique, technology-enabled supply chain was a key factor for the investment.

Competitive Landscape and Consumer Trends

This investment positions Anveshan to compete more effectively in a market with both traditional FMCG giants and other emerging D2C brands. The company has successfully tapped into a diverse and growing consumer base, with over half of its revenue now coming from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. This trend indicates a widespread consumer shift towards healthier, minimally processed food choices that extends well beyond metropolitan areas.

This Series B funding marks a significant milestone for Anveshan, providing the necessary resources to scale its operations and solidify its market leadership. By staying true to its mission of delivering authentic, traditionally made food products, the company is well-positioned for a future of sustained growth. The investment ultimately validates its unique approach to bridging the gap between rural producers and a new generation of health-conscious consumers.
