Antares Ventures has secured more than US$50 million in commitments for Antares Ventures I at the fund's second close, the Singapore based deep tech venture capital firm announced on October 14, 2026. The firm is targeting a final fund size of US$100 million and continues to raise capital toward that goal. Limited partners in the fund include family offices, corporate investors, and strategic investors from Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea.

Fundraising Momentum and Portfolio Deployment

The second close follows an initial close earlier in 2026 and keeps Antares Ventures I on course toward its final target of US$100 million. Fund I has already invested approximately US$27 million across nine science and engineering led companies, underscoring the firm's commitment to selective deployment. The firm plans to continue fundraising while evaluating additional opportunities that fit its thesis-driven approach.

Portfolio Companies at a Glance

The fund's portfolio includes VFlowTech, a Singapore-based developer of long duration energy storage, and IONATE, a UK developer of hybrid intelligent transformer technology. It also includes enaDyne, a German developer of plasma-based technologies for industrial applications, and The ePlane Company, an Indian company developing electric aircraft for urban transportation. Additional investments include Ayrton Energy, FeX Energy, Ackcio, Open Ocean Robotics, and Hydroleap, spanning grid optimization, hydrogen transportation, and water treatment.

Investment Thesis and Market Focus

Antares Ventures targets early stage deep tech companies from Seed to Series B stages across four interconnected themes: energy, compute and digital infrastructure, industry, and urban and transport infrastructure. The firm connects these themes to a major infrastructure capital expenditure cycle, with annual committed spending rising from roughly US$2 trillion in 2020 to US$6 trillion in 2025. It seeks technologies that can remove performance constraints in systems customers are already building and operating.

Research-Driven Sourcing

Before making investments, Antares uses a dedicated research capability to form views on specific infrastructure areas, technology categories, market structures, and adoption pathways. It integrates that research with a global sourcing pipeline, allowing the firm to compare technologies and companies across different markets. This thesis-driven approach, formalized in its Beyond Carbon and Silicon report, is meant to avoid broad sector exposure and focus on high conviction opportunities.

Commercialization and Portfolio Support

After investing, Antares works actively with portfolio companies on governance, customer development, industrial partnerships, pilot opportunities, localization, regulatory navigation, and regional expansion. The firm emphasized that commercializing deep tech in Asia is an execution challenge and that operating experience matters at every stage of scale. It provides founders with access to senior advisers, industry operators, and companies that understand the operating environment.

Leadership and Operating Team

Michael Gryseels founded Antares Ventures and serves as its Managing Partner, joined by Partners Louis Murayama and Milena Nikolova. The partners bring combined experience across deep tech investing, technology and corporate strategy, venture operations, investment banking, and capital formation. They are supported by a 20-person investment and operating team across Asia, alongside venture partners and senior advisers providing technical expertise, governance experience, and market access.

Asia's Infrastructure Opportunity

Antares said Asia is investing heavily in infrastructure systems that support economic growth, from renewable energy and data centers to advanced manufacturing and urban transport. The firm argued that capital alone does not resolve the performance constraints within those systems. Antares invests globally in technologies that address those constraints and then works with founders and industrial partners to turn technical advantage into commercial deployment across Asia.

With a second close at more than US$50 million and a clear focus on deep tech commercialization, Antares Ventures is positioning itself as a selective investor in technologies that support Asia's physical and digital infrastructure needs. The firm's continued fundraising toward US$100 million will provide additional capacity for high conviction investments. As energy security, artificial intelligence infrastructure, and industrial competitiveness become part of the same investment story, Antares aims to offer disciplined access to durable economic value.
