Pune-based deep technology company Aeron Systems has announced the successful closure of its pre-Series B funding round, raising Rs 45 crore, or approximately $4.7 million. The investment was jointly led by Riverwalk Holdings and MGF-Kavachh, also known as the MountTech Growth Fund. The capital will help the company scale manufacturing, accelerate research and development, and expand its presence in international markets.
Strategic Use of the Fresh Capital
Aeron Systems plans to use the new funding to expand manufacturing capacity for advanced inertial navigation systems and meet increasing customer demand. The company will also accelerate research and development and strengthen its international market presence. This investment reflects growing confidence in India's ability to develop globally competitive aerospace and defence technologies through indigenous innovation and execution.
Deep Technology Product Portfolio
Founded by Ashvani Shukla and Abhijeet Bokil, Aeron Systems builds advanced navigation, weather sensing and intelligent monitoring solutions. Its portfolio includes inertial navigation systems, air data computers, weather and environmental sensors, flight test instrumentation, avionics and resilient positioning, navigation and timing technologies. These products support aircraft, helicopters, unmanned platforms, missiles, armoured vehicles and naval platforms across defence, aerospace and research applications.
Proven Deployment Record and Key Customers
Over 18 years, Aeron has deployed more than 10,000 inertial systems and over 2,500 weather stations worldwide. Its systems operate reliably in extreme environments, from high-altitude cold deserts to tropical regions, around the clock throughout the year. The company's technologies are trusted by leading organisations such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited, the Defence Research and Development Organisation, the Indian Army and the Indian Navy.
Investor Confidence and Industry Perspective
Investors described the funding as a milestone that will support Aeron's global expansion and strengthen its manufacturing capabilities. Air Chief Marshal (Retd.) R.K.S. Bhadauria noted that modern defence platforms require technology that can operate reliably in contested environments. Riverwalk Holdings added that Aeron sits at the intersection of two major trends, namely inertial navigation for GPS denied environments and intelligent utility-scale solar adoption.
Sector Momentum and Market Outlook
The funding comes amid rising demand for aerospace and defence technologies that can perform in increasingly complex and contested environments. Electronic warfare and disruption of satellite navigation signals have increased the need for reliable sensing and mission-critical data. India's overall deep technology market was estimated to be worth between $9 billion and $12 billion in fiscal year 2025, with projections of $27 billion to $33 billion by 2030.
A Step Toward Strategic Self-Reliance
Aeron Systems represents the kind of sovereign technology company that can help strengthen India's strategic technology ecosystem. The company has demonstrated an ability to develop highly differentiated technologies for some of the country's most demanding customers. With this investment, Aeron is expected to accelerate its next phase of growth while keeping forward integration of its hardware and software stacks central to its strategy.
Aeron Systems is positioned to advance its indigenous technology stack and contribute to India's strategic and technological self-reliance. The fresh capital will support the company's efforts to serve demanding customers while pursuing global opportunities. As demand for resilient navigation and intelligent monitoring grows, Aeron's manufacturing and product development investments are expected to strengthen its role in the deep technology ecosystem and support its global customer base.
