Advisar, an AI-enabled retail media decisioning platform for suppliers, has raised $750,000 in Pre-Seed funding to accelerate product development and commercial expansion. The round was led by Austin-based Clutch VC, with participation from Venture Center Arkansas Fund, The Validation Fund at Winrock International, Rekall Capital, White River Capital Advisors, and angel investors Michael Paladino, co-founder of RevUnit, and Jeff Amerine, general partner at Cadron Capital. The Bentonville, Arkansas-based startup plans to use the financing to strengthen its technology and go-to-market strategy ahead of a broader commercial rollout.

Tackling Retail Media Measurement Challenges

Advisar was founded by Christina Johnson, former chief of staff to the general manager of Walmart Connect, and is designed to help retail suppliers better understand the business impact of their retail media spending. As retail media has expanded into a major advertising channel, suppliers have faced increasingly fragmented data, complex attribution processes, and difficulties connecting campaign performance with sales and profitability. Advisar aims to address those challenges by providing an independent analytical layer that integrates information from multiple sources and translates it into actionable recommendations.

Turning Data Into Business Decisions

Rather than operating primarily as a reporting dashboard, Advisar positions its platform as a decisioning tool that helps suppliers identify what is working, where growth may be incorrectly attributed, and where marketing dollars could be redirected. The company says its technology reduces the need for manual data pulls, dashboard construction, and interpretation of disconnected reports by allowing customers to connect their existing accounts and receive a consolidated analysis. This approach is intended to help suppliers evaluate retail media spending using similar financial and performance standards to those applied across other marketing investments.

Growing Market Opportunity

The company is entering the market as retail media spending continues to grow rapidly, creating greater demand for specialized measurement and attribution tools. Advisar cites projections that total U.S. retail media spending could reach $100 billion by 2028, highlighting the increasing importance of the channel for brands and suppliers seeking to reach consumers directly through retailer platforms. As those budgets increase, advertisers are also placing greater emphasis on understanding whether individual campaigns and networks are generating incremental sales, improving margins, or simply shifting revenue between channels.

Investor Backing and Expansion Plans

Clutch VC general partner Rajiv Bala said Johnson's experience across marketing, customer strategy, and retail media innovation at Walmart gives Advisar insight into the measurement challenges suppliers increasingly face. Advisar is currently operating in beta and says it has already recorded early adoption among key partners, with general availability planned for the fall as the company expands its commercial activities. The startup also plans to participate in Groceryshop in Las Vegas and Shoptalk in Nashville in September, giving it opportunities to introduce the platform to additional brands, suppliers, and retail industry participants.

The $750,000 Pre-Seed round gives Advisar additional resources to develop its platform and pursue customers as retail media becomes a larger component of supplier marketing budgets. By focusing on independent measurement and connecting advertising performance with broader sales and financial results, the company is targeting a growing need for clearer accountability across retail media investments. Advisar's next challenge will be converting its early beta adoption into sustained commercial growth as the platform moves toward general availability and competes for a role in the expanding retail media technology ecosystem.
