ADI Chain has partnered with Swiss hardware wallet manufacturer Tangem to launch a co-branded crypto wallet, now available in Virgin Megastores across the UAE. This collaboration is designed to make secure self-custody of digital assets more accessible to the general public. The initiative aims to simplify the process of owning and managing cryptocurrencies by offering a user-friendly product in a familiar retail setting.

Bridging Institutional Security and Retail Access

The new hardware wallet brings ADI Chain's institutional-grade infrastructure, originally built for governments and enterprises, directly to retail consumers. This move extends the network's high standards for compliance and security to a broader audience. It represents a significant effort to provide everyday users with the same level of protection trusted by major organizations.

Tangem contributes its established reputation for security, boasting a flawless track record across six million devices shipped since 2017. By distributing the wallet through a prominent retailer like Virgin Megastores, the partnership removes the typical complexities of acquiring crypto hardware. This direct-to-consumer strategy makes secure technology readily available off the shelf for newcomers and experienced users alike.

Simplifying Self-Custody with Advanced Technology

The wallet is ingeniously designed as a contactless smart card containing a highly secure chip. This chip generates and stores the user's private keys entirely on the device, ensuring they are never exposed to online vulnerabilities. This self-contained approach provides robust protection against remote hacking attempts and other digital threats.

Users can activate and manage the wallet in minutes using the Tangem app on any NFC-enabled smartphone. The application supports assets across more than 80 blockchain networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and ADI Chain's native tokens. To authorize transactions, users simply tap the card on their phone, adding a physical layer of security to all operations.

A Shared Vision for Mainstream Adoption

Ivan Branitskiy, Head of DeFi at the ADI Foundation, highlighted the importance of retail distribution in driving mainstream adoption. He explained that making self-custodial wallets available where consumers already shop is key to onboarding more people to the blockchain. This strategy effectively combines institutional-grade security with the reach of a major retail environment.

Echoing this vision, Tangem's Chief Commercial Officer, Darya Karpukova, emphasized the company's mission to make hardware wallets accessible to everyone. She asserted that security should not be complex and that owning digital assets should not require specialized technical knowledge. The partnership aims to establish secure hardware wallets as a standard consumer technology product.

The launch of the ADI Chain and Tangem wallet in the UAE marks a significant milestone for cryptocurrency accessibility in the region. By merging robust security with an intuitive user experience and mainstream retail availability, the collaboration lowers the barrier to safe digital asset management. This strategic initiative could set a new standard for driving the broader adoption of self-custody solutions globally.
