The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Ultrahuman Healthcare SP LLC, a global health technology company. The partnership will develop and validate a Biological Health Age model that combines clinical biomarker data with wearable health data to produce more personalized insights into health and aging. The collaboration is intended to strengthen Abu Dhabi's preventive health capabilities and help individuals better understand how everyday factors shape their long-term wellbeing.

A More Complete View of Aging

Unlike chronological age, which simply measures the number of years a person has lived, biological health age evaluates multiple health indicators to show how the body is actually aging. The model will integrate clinical information with continuous wearable data covering cardiovascular health, sleep, metabolism, and recovery. This approach will create a more complete picture of individual health and provide a deeper understanding of the factors that influence healthy aging.

From Lifespan to Healthspan

The initiative aims to support earlier interventions, targeted prevention strategies, and personalized recommendations that encourage people to take a proactive role in managing their health. As life expectancy continues to increase globally, healthcare systems are shifting their focus from lifespan alone to health span, ensuring people remain healthier throughout those additional years. Abu Dhabi's integrated public health ecosystem, including population health programs, digital health infrastructure, clinical data, and real-world evidence, provides a unique environment for developing and validating these tools.

Partnership Framework and Data Governance

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Abu Dhabi by His Excellency Dr Faisal Al Ahbabi, Executive Director of Communicable Diseases at ADPHC, and Mohit Kumar, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ultrahuman Healthcare SP LLC. The agreement establishes a two-year framework for joint scientific research, clinical validation, and the responsible use of health data. Both organizations have committed to maintaining all data within the emirate, supported by strict confidentiality measures, robust governance frameworks, clinical oversight, and strong privacy protections.

Leadership Perspectives

His Excellency Dr. Rashed Obaid Alsuwaidi, Director General of ADPHC, said public health is shifting from disease management toward prediction, prevention, and early intervention. He emphasized that understanding how populations age and identifying the factors that influence healthy longevity are essential components of that transition. Mohit Kumar, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ultrahuman Healthcare SP LLC, said the collaboration represents an opportunity to combine continuous health monitoring with one of the world's most advanced health ecosystems.

Building on Abu Dhabi's Investments

The initiative builds on Abu Dhabi's broader investments in genomics, digital health, preventive health programs, and population health infrastructure. It reinforces the emirate's position as a global leader in precision public health and healthy longevity. By bringing together public health expertise, clinical research, wearable technologies, and scientific evidence, the partners aim to translate data into practical public health tools that improve outcomes across the entire community.

The partnership marks a significant step toward a healthcare model that prioritizes preserving health rather than treating disease alone. By combining clinical and wearable data, Abu Dhabi is advancing a new model for healthy longevity that focuses on helping people live healthier lives for longer. The initiative demonstrates how responsible data use, scientific collaboration, and advanced technology can produce practical benefits for communities across the emirate.
