Belgian medtech company 4Tissue has announced a €7 million Series A financing round alongside the appointment of Stéphanie Dupont as its new Chief Executive Officer. The Ghent-based company is developing regenerative medicine solutions and plans to use the capital to advance its lead technology toward clinical evaluation. The announcement marks a significant step in 4Tissue's effort to provide less invasive soft tissue repair options for patients.

Series A Financing Overview

The newly secured Series A funding totals €7 million and will support 4Tissue's next phase of development. A central priority is the company's first-in-human study, which is intended to generate initial clinical evidence for its regenerative platform. The financing will also help scale manufacturing capabilities, strengthen the company's operational foundation, and advance additional applications in regenerative medicine where clinical need remains significant.

Technology and Clinical Applications

4Tissue is developing a bioresorbable, injectable hydrogel designed to support the body's natural tissue regeneration. The technology is initially being developed for breast reconstruction and augmentation, with the goal of offering a less invasive and more patient-friendly alternative to existing techniques. Beyond this first indication, the platform may address other soft tissue repair and regeneration needs where clinical demand remains high and current treatment options are limited.

Leadership Appointment

Stéphanie Dupont brings more than 15 years of experience moving innovative technologies from development through commercialization. She has held leadership positions at Barco, miDiagnostics, Talis Biomedical, HP, and Bain & Company, managing international teams across product management, marketing, and research and development. Her academic background includes a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from Stanford University, which complements her commercial and product strategy expertise.

Strategic Priorities

4Tissue is moving toward its first clinical study, a milestone that brings the company closer to making its technology available to patients. The organization will focus on combining strong science with a clear clinical need to support the next phase of growth. Operational execution, manufacturing readiness, and continued platform development will be central to the company's strategy.

Executive Perspective

Dupont described 4Tissue as being at an important inflection point as the company prepares for clinical evaluation. She highlighted the combination of strong science, a clear clinical need, and the potential to make a tangible difference for patients as key drivers for this phase. She also expressed her intention to work with the team, investors, and partners to shape the company's next stage of growth.

Board and Investor Support

Dr. Katleen Verleysen, Chair of the Board of Directors, stated that Dupont brings the scientific expertise, product strategy, and international experience needed at this stage. Investor Virginie Saverys added that 4Tissue has developed an innovative technology addressing a significant unmet clinical need. Both leaders expressed confidence in the platform, the team, and the company's strategy as it enters this next phase of development.

The Series A financing and leadership appointment position 4Tissue to accelerate its clinical development program and strengthen its presence in regenerative medicine. With funding secured and an experienced chief executive in place, the company can now prioritize first-in-human study execution and manufacturing scale-up. These steps are expected to support the long-term goal of delivering a less invasive soft tissue regeneration option to patients, while building momentum for broader platform applications.
